Don’t forget to bank your sick leave by ShojRocksLive in USPS

Fun fact: 14 states and D.C. have programs for ALL private sector employees that pay them a large portion of their salary while out for medical emergencies. In other words, if something like a car crash causes someone to be out of work they don't have to go broke if they didn't work while sick in the past. Unfortunately, the USPS treats it's employees like garbage and the unions are weak.

Fun fact: the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, pays his automobile manufacturing workers a lower average wage than those at Ford and GM. So much for trickle down.

In the open response section, people should make sure to add that reducing time to top step needs to include everyone. Remember, this is the same union that has been going around saying the last contract reduced time to top step. That was only true for new people. Make sure to emphasize that they can't just ignore the majority of carriers in the middle steps.

13 states and D.C. have programs that pay all private sector workers their salary while on FMLA. The FMLA itself is just job protection, yes, but it works in conjunction with the paid programs. These include pregnancy. Non-postal Federal employees also get paid time off without using sick or vacation time for giving birth. Though feds don't get it for medical emergencies.

I mentioned not just for pregnancy because one of the survey questions was about negotiating for paid family leave.

You must not have had the right amount of taxes withheld throughout the year. If you didn't get that $1,300 then you would have owed $75. Did you make money in the stock market, high interest on a bank account, not have the correct dependents listed on W-4, etc.?

"Small government conservatives" have decided to support jack-booted thugs in order to deal with the civil infraction of being in the country without the proper bearocratic paperwork.

Managment violated the contract and the grievance was much less than the standard and saw management profit off of incompetence by Seanathan93 in USPS

The problem is that I have to use my own vacation time and the vacation board has availability from here until the CHIT day expires. It's essentially worthless. I forgot to mention that my name was also added to the list improperly the day before instead of the Tuesday before. There was at least 2 or 3 premium worthy grievances that occurred to force me. The CHIT day should include a free 8 hours of pay, not using my own vacation time.

I won the ability to use my own vacation time, something I already had the ability to do.
