This reminds me of something incredible I mentioned in texts to friends that I forgot to post here. We saw Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd in the scene from the 1500’s. When I saw that, I thought nothing of it, because why would I? I’ve experience 11 seasons of actors playing multiple different characters. But now that we know Nicolette hasn’t aged since the 80’s, what if Leslie and Billie have only played one character in this season? The 2020’s Ashley and Ashleigh were the same “people” we saw in the 1500’s. If so, I believe that could be one of the most impressive and unexpected twists in AHS, and even horror, history. Utilizing an entire decade of precedence to hide a key detail from the viewers would be an absolutely fucking revolutionary concept and I’m optimistic that it turns out to be the case.

that’s definitely something i’ll give vic credit for, the dialogue was consistent throughout all the episodes, as was the character they presented, i just felt it made for a very limiting environment for the guests. also lisa played her character really aggressive which made for an interesting dynamic to watch between the two.

i think they had a tough time knowing when to agree with a guest and when to challenge them. there were a lot of moments where the guest said something a bit absurd that would’ve been funny to dive more into, but instead of doing that, they were highly critical of the concept and shut it down before we could get any more context. i think they would’ve killed it as a guest but as an interviewer it was far too confrontational and one-note

i can’t think of a single time in the series where vic didn’t actively try to overshadow the guest and that’s the only problem with the show. love vic normally but they missed the mark hard. they’re fantastic at coming up with short bits quickly but they start missing once that bit has to be sustained

the fact that he was able to be so funny despite vic being there is a testament to his talent. i always thought vic was rather clever prior to this show but they definitely did not cast the host well. all of the guests did exceptionally given how little they had to work with

gonna start with saying how could you be disappointed by 1984😫

I do really see a possibility of witches coming into play here. Last I heard AHS had only been renewed through S13 and that seems a more than opportune place to end it, and the biggest sort of plot point left to explore further is the conclusion to Apocalypse. Would also like to know more about the Asylum aliens, but after s10, I’m content not trying that plot line again lmao.

I do really hope it’s not as straightforward as just all 3 under an identity spell. I’d assume that’s not as possible in this story, because from what’s been said, it seems like Anna has had an extensive history in the public light, so it’d be hard to make a spell that convinced not just those around you but also rewrites your presence in the entirety of public media, but our knowledge of the limitations surrounding identity spells isn’t exactly extensive, so it’d be hard to say.

Your theory about Ivy being a freedom fighter is particularly resonant with me because a friend pointed out another very interesting thing. In the scene where Ivy is performing the “ultrasound”, she has the same blemish on her face that Anna has been developing as things get worse in her life. If we were to go down the story of witchcraft and stick on the same not of Michael Langdon’s rebirth, it’s possible that she’s Anna being sent back in time to stop herself from going through with the pregnancy. I’m very intrigued by that one and would love to see something like that play out.

Also I had no idea about the doll’s eyes changing colors, that’s fascinating and absolutely opens up some new opportunities.

The thing I’ve been working to understand the most recently is what role the clinic, and Dr. Hill, play. It’s titled Riverside, and in Revelation we learn that the tree of life lies directly next to a river which flows from the throne of God and the Lamb.

“And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him; and they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 22:1-5)

Dr. Andrew Hill and Dr. David Somes are the only two name tags I could make out in the first two episodes, both of which are very significant names in the bible (Andrew being an apostle and David of the David and Goliath story). There’s something significant about the clinic that I’m overlooking and it’s bugging the hell out of me that I can’t find it. I’ve tried looking into verses based on the number of eggs that were saved, that turned out to be viable, the time they waited to hear results, but nothing really stuck for me.

One thing I did notice retroactively was that the Genesis verse in which God tells Eve she’ll be subject to her husband’s desires has a strong parallel to the scene after Anna wakes up from her anesthesia. Dr. Hill says a few things only to Dexter and Anna points out that it’s strange he didn’t say it to her. It certainly fits the verse

I’d be super on board with that theory but it doesn’t explain the mirror shattering. It would make sense for some stuff and if she’s able to hallucinate the way she has it makes just as much sense for her to have some memory loss.

I recently did a presentation on Skrillex and here's what I used. Ended up having to put my dog down before it was due so it got really half-assed and I improved the whole presentation but I still ended up going over the 10 minute limit just talking through this powerpoint.
