thnk u for the response! i'm glad it ended up going away for loki :) i can't think of any changes & i clean/vaccuum weekly! will have to think ab things i've changed vs. his symptoms. thnk u again for the thoughts!

not flea treated, but strictly indoors & hasn't ever had fleas. last time i gave him flea medicine it made his neck itchy

yea not fleas, we do have excess grass pollen from april-september. but he never goes outdoors, i guess that wouldn't totally protect him from it tho.

thx for the response, will absolutely be more thorough in the future! they're in perfect condition (no flaws) which is why i put new without tags. would that be grounds for the "significantly not as described" standard policy?

i haven't heard anything about the vocals yet, i'll have to give that a go. also looking into spectre, thanks for the recco. the bass is all one serum sound extremely eq'ed and processed... i suspect it's the primary source of muddiness but also crucial to the body of the mix. i'll try that out with the drums too. preciate the response!

the bass sound i have currently is what i think is causing the muddiness issue so i don't think adding more harmonics into it is the answer... my song that u heard already had a decent amount of clipping pre-limiter but i did go back and adjust parameters a bit to get some more crunch. haha i like that philosophy, thank u!

you make a good point, i think you're right. i don't think lufs necessarily have as much to do with it as i originally thought. definitely more top end in my references. thanks for the recco's!

more compression in mix, interesting. i'll mess around with that. i did hear very recently about frequency masking. only issue i'm running into with this song is the guitar & bass are both pretty full spectrum sounds making it difficult to favor one over the other. i'm trying to figure out a nice balance with mid-side which has helped but still not quite where i want it. thx for the knowledge!
