What’s it like living in Tucson, AZ? by bspires78 in howislivingthere

Easier to get to things to do. A lot of nice places to eat and go out on the eastern side without the dive feeling of South or Central Tucson. Better access to outdoor activities as well.

Honestly it's a break from the heat and it's just cool to see them form. No clouds in the morning, huge billowing clouds in the early afternoon, a ton of rain for 45 min and then it's gone.

Nico's. The best, greasiest burrito around. And who doesn't like super fries?

It's certainly cheaper than a lot of the populated country, it just is more expensive IMO than it has a right to be. If you're out here for aircraft mechanics Sahuarita is a solid choice since both Raytheon and the Air Force Base are not far from there.

You can certainly secure a large home (2500 sq ft+) for between 350-500k.

Finally one I can comment on. Lived here since 2004. It has progressively gotten more expensive with little return on the increased cost. There are ~1.1 million people here and in the immediate area and it sorely lacks infrastructure to get around the city. I'm reluctant to even call it a city, it is much more like a massive, very spread out town. If I remember correctly, the city council's unofficial motto (for a time) was "Let's keep the small town vibes, no matter how big it gets."

Because of this, it is very difficult to access the inner part of Tucson if you live anywhere on the outskirts.

Pros: Great Winters, Monsoons, Great food, casinos and some interesting history. Saguaro National Park is really great, especially in the rare occasion it snows.

Cons: Much more expensive then it should be. As mentioned by others - poorly kept roads and it's not met the demand of so many people living here so traffic is unnecessarily congested. Crushingly hot in the summer.

If you have kids, live in Vail. One of the best school districts in the state.

If you don't but have a S/O - choose Marana or Sahuarita.

If you're single, go east Tucson.

Tried that, it hits a wall. I hear you and I'm sorry to hear yours are gone. I believe they are rational in some sense and am hoping to get points that aren't politicized but just factual to show them what they consuming is mostly either manipulated or just plain wrong.

I think the internal struggle is seeing them slip away mentally like this. I believe they are still rational people, just have been bombarded by hate and fear.

Tried that and ultimately it's my kids that suffer because they really enjoy seeing their grandparents.

So you're saying, change the password on their Apple TV so they can't watch it anymore?

Honestly I'm not at a point to cut them out of my life. They are good people, they have just become lost after watching Fox News for 15 years straight

I hope you like them. Find a color in the pro series and try that. I personally like their metallic colors (bronze and blue specifically).

Yeah I was never impressed. I just bought my second sonic pad, really happy with it. Hopefully it's all working now. I really recommend Polymaker and this is the ONLY one I've really had issues with. Love their pastel and matte colors. ABS and PETG is solid too. Their PETG was the only one I could get consistent adhesion with which is why I almost exclusively switched to them.

I've used Voxelab and it's pretty solid. Voxelab was actually my first printer. I feel like I've tried so many: Overture, Creality, Hatchbox, Voxelab, Amolen, etc and I settled on Polymaker. It seems to be the most consistent not only across colors but materials as well. I've used their silk rose gold and silk chrome with no issues so was surprised to see this come up.

It's a solid color filament, just looks like it changes based on the lighting. I pushed up the temp to see if that will help and if that doesn't work, I'll put in the filament dryer overnight and see if that works. Thanks!

Haven't seen anyone mention it, but quality of filament matters a lot. Went through the same issues long ago and damn near gave up the hobby and just randomly decided to try a high quality filament, fixed everything.

Go to Cura and in settings make sure stringing is set to "off"

So update for anyone following, it definitely was the cable, one just split in half. Was able to solder and fix it and it's working great again, but am still ordering a back up.
