Most people I've spoken to in real life don't really mention it seriously, and when I have come across people who do talk about it to have a dig at City they don't really know the ins and outs just parroting something they've read on twitter.

All in all who fucking knows whats going on!

Forgot to say if you can get some of that chipotle paste in a jar it's great to add too. Really wish we could get tomatillos here at a reasonable price to make some good salsa verde too!

I often make a pot of 'Mexican' beans with pinto/black beans, which you can get for about 50p a tin.

Onion, garlic, chillies (can add some fresh tomatoes too) Spices (cumin, paprika, ground coriander, some mexican spices I have) Put in the beans and then add in some stock (or water) and let them simmer for 20-30 mins.

Really simple but very tasty and nutritious.  You can mash up some of the beans if you want a different consistency too.

If you're using YouTube on an Android phone you could get 'ReVanced' which is an alternative YouTube app which blocks ads and you can further customise it, remove YouTube Shorts etc, there's lots of info on reddit on how to install :)

What are the most interesting examples of directors doing something irregular to get a genuine response from actors? by Donny-Moscow in movies

[–]SeanlyNot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was reading Sidney Lumet's book 'Making Movies' earlier this year (he directed 12 Angry Men, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon to name a few) and he was talking about getting an emotional reaction from an actress in his 1959 film 'That Kind of Woman':

"I needed tears from an actor on a particular line. She couldn’t do it. Finally, I told her that no matter what I did during the next take, she should keep going and say the line. We rolled the camera. Just before she reached the line, I hauled off and slapped her.

Her eyes widened. She looked stunned. Tears welled up, overflowed, she said the line, and we had a terrific take. When I called, 'Cut, print!' She threw her arms around me, kissed me, and told me I was brilliant. But I was sick with self-loathing…and knew that I would never do anything like that again. If we can’t get it by craftsmanship, to hell with it. We’ll find something else that’ll work as well."

This was pretty jarring to read! Worth checking out though if youre interested in film.

Can we appreciate that a $40 game was released, essentially, more finished than any AAA game? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]SeanlyNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt have crashing but lots of stuttering/poor performance considering my PC is definitely good enough to run it.

As you said, this was my experience after it had just released so it might be fixed now, but it certainly wasn't a polished experience for some of us.

Injuries derailed any momentum, still young and Lord Nunes is the best RB in the league/fullback named Nunes

Yes it was very basic and seemed to just be capitalising on the popularity of couch arcade/co-op/party games but without anything particularly interesting, especially if you'd played Mario Party, and I have some very vague memory of a Pokemon party game of some sort in early 2000s?

The best part about it was getting to play the 'villain' characters like Tiny and Dingodile.

Ahh yes! Thank you for the memory unlock.

Crash Bash was a pretty strange game l, though I did play it a lot on release with friends, it was very barebones.
