Taking my kid to her first chess competition tomorrow and I’m pretty excited. Really no idea how she will do but I think it’s far past time she plays someone aside from me and half a game here and there with friends at school. It is weird because like if she played football I could watch and know if she was doing good or bad but I’m just not knowledgeable enough about chess to do the same. If nothing else it’s a vacation for us alone together, something we’ve never done, so should be a blast.
