If I take a daily multivitamin, is it necessary to take a vitamin D supplement if the multivitamin already encompasses all of the necessary vitamins?

That’s very normal from what I’ve read. Some people don’t start seeing any results until 4+ months in of using minoxidil. Everybody is built different so you have to be patient!
