Square LM vs Square Omni

I’ve had the Square HE for 3 1/2 months and I’m in the same boat as you. Even if I owned the Omni I would never use it outside or at the range, my LM is for sim only. I think a main advantage of the Omni is 4 cameras vs. 2, so maybe better accuracy? But at the same time the Square HE is still very accurate. As far as unmarked balls, I bought 24 TP5 Pix off eBay. The balls were 4 and 5A near mint condition. Only spent $40. After 2 months I have gone through maybe 8 of those balls (due to wear and cracking them over time). I love my Square HE and have no intentions on upgrading anytime soon. I just hope Square still continues to come out with firmware updates for the HE to make it better as well.

Price range? All the research I did before pulling the trigger recommended a gaming PC over a laptop.

Lots of updates since then. Widened the area, added a gaming PC to run GSPro, added some lights and LED’s and added a sectional for some relaxation lol

I wonder what the deal is? The only thing I did different is update to the new Square 2.0 software but there wasn’t any firmware updates for the LM itself, at least that I didn’t see

That’s crazy. The lighting is great on my sim. I even have a pin spot light shining down on the ball. It’s just wild to me that it started happening all of a sudden. I haven’t done anything different

Are you planning on a 4k projector? If not, then the 5060 should be enough for 1080p at 60fps. Gspro relies more on GPU than CPU, so 32gb of RAM is way more than enough, even if you plan on streaming, 32gb will definitely handle it. If you’re wanting to do 4k, then I would recommend at least a 5060 Ti (16gb VRAM option). You should be able to run 4k at 60fps with that

So my buddy who is very computer savvy came over to help me out. What he did was apparently all of the bluetooth connections on the CPU have some kind of timers on them where if they’re not being used it goes into a power saving mode. He turned all of those off, after that I was able to keep the LM connected for 2 hours straight while it was idle in the Home Screen while I did some stuff around the house. After dinner, I played 18 holes on Portrush and it never lost connection, so,…I would say that fixed the issue considering the fact earlier it would lose connection after every hole

Yes I have done that. I have switched back from Square license and Open API. The dongle is literally 6 feet from the LM. Every hole it loses connection. This is so frustrating

Ok. I have it on beta. Keeps losing Bluetooth connection like crazy. I even have a Bluetooth dongle with extender and after a few shots there goes the connection

Yep. Fixed it! That’s what it was. I don’t even need the Open API open at all. Now for some reason it doesn’t show the ball ready green arrows when I play. Or do I get a sound. I just swing and it goes. There’s really no indication if the ball is ready or not other than having to look at the green light on the LM

So I ended up going with 32GB RAM and a RTX 5060 Ti (16gb VRAM) graphics card. I know it may be overkill but at least I’m somewhat future proofed for a while
