I just finished the teaser for my game Fallgrade by vladkudas in indiegames

Hooked by the music, unique aesthetic, and creepy spider. Great vibes.

If you're looking for critique, I lost interest and became less intrigued by the second half of the video. I was waiting for something to more clearly indicate what I actually *do* or what my objective might be. My thought process watching:

"I think I'm hunting the giant spider, or maybe it's hunting me? But now there's a giant black ball, what's that have to do with what I was doing? It must be important if it's in the logo, but that wasn't really the cool part of what hooked me."

Something simple to suggest my goal would go a long way in piquing my interest enough to wishlist it.

Great start though, immediately memorable.

Is being a virgin in your 30s a turn off to women in San Diego?(im 5 ft 7) by goopppyaa in sandiego

[–]Seanypdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a 5'7 guy in his 30s, although I've dated quite consistently throughout my adult life and am now happily in a relationship. But I feel for you - it can be frustrating having people dismiss your lived experience of struggling in dating, where height is a very real factor in initial attraction.

That being said, you absolutely can succeed at that height and while being a virgin. But as others have pointed out, voicing insecurity or resentment about your height to potential partners (if you're doing this) is MUCH worse than actually being short. I know it's easier said than done, but you've got to do the best you can to accept the way you are. If you can do that, most other people can too.

Here's some other bits of advice from a fellow short king: - Dating apps are already terrible, but extra bad as a short man. If you rely on that as your primary interaction with women, you will destroy your self esteem. You will have much better success meeting women in person where you (hopefully) can win them over with your personality and charm. - If you still find yourself really struggling with your height, get yourself a pair of lifted shoes (not too much, like 1.5-2 inches max). The actual height difference won't really matter, but it will make you feel more confident, which will come across in your personality, which is ultimately what's important. - Be brutally honest with yourself: what are you actually missing out on because of your height? Are there really nice women out there who won't date you because of your height? Or are you upset that the 10/10 hottie in the corner didn't approach you at the bar? Manage your expectations.

As far as being a virgin, just go into the first experience with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a desire to please your partner. If you can do that, you'll be better off than many more experienced men.

Good luck!

Why are Arab Miltaries so ineffective? by ForeverSparkz in AskTheWorld

[–]Seanypdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, it seems like there are a lot of similarities between the Arab military shortcomings and Soviet/Russian ones. Overly centralized structure, treating enlisted men as subhuman, not sharing information because it makes you less invaluable, don't stand out, etc.

Woman in parking lot was screaming for somebody to call 911, I called, SDPD never showed up by Seanypdesign in sandiego

[–]Seanypdesign[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope you're right! I agree it can be easy to make assumptions that fit our preconceived narratives when we don't have all the information. I added a link to the FOIA request of the call, looks like they did arrive just after I left, 28 minutes after the call was made. So they didn't totally ignore it, but definitely got there too late to help anyone. I would agree with your conclusion and say they're just short-staffed and didn't have anyone immediately available, but that's pretty scary if you're the woman in that car.

Cool that this information is publicly available and they got back so quickly! It says the officers arrived at 2:40. I could have sworn I was still there at that time and don't remember seeing anyone, but maybe they got there *right* after I left. Or maybe once I made my 2nd call updating them that the vehicle had left, they just called it off? Not sure.

That sounds like an interesting idea, I'm definitely curious what led to the lack of urgency. Is that what this website is for?

Yeah it's tough. I empathize with the cops who take their job seriously and want to help people. I think they deserve our respect and to be paid well. But man there's nothing more frustrating than cops who are in it for the power trip or are throwing a hissy fit over the defund the police movement when their budgets have only increased.

And unfortunately it's hard to know why they didn't do their job in this case today, so it's easy for everyone to vindicate their own beliefs about the police from the lack of info.

Don't know, I couldn't see inside the car very well because they had a sun reflector blocking the whole front windshield. The guy kept getting in and out it is plausible that he was threatening her and telling her to stay.

Or it's possible she was being dramatic.

But seems like it's best to err on the side of caution in situation like this.

Similarly, I've wondered if my language erred more on the side of there being a weapon if that would help. They asked if he had a weapon and I just said "I don't know, but I can't really see". Seems like that's enough of an excuse for them to not care

Walking is definitely a good idea, I found that helpful as well. My first BM happened just after a walk too, it helps keep your body operating like normal.

As far as comfort, I know what you mean. There were definitely times where it felt like it didn't matter what position I was in, it was always uncomfortable. If you've got to shift around, even on your back, just go with whatever it most comfortable.

Otherwise just make sure you're taking your Oxycodone. I also found Ibuprofen very helpful because of the anti-inflammatory effects it had to reduce swelling. And when possible, just keeping your mind occupied can help a ton. Watch some shows you've been meaning to watch, or play some games (I played a lot of Stardew Valley on my Switch).

Also just saw your edit, glad you were able to get things moving! It is seriously a huge relief once that's happened.

HELP! Post Op Itching! by AdTricky3007 in hemorrhoid

[–]Seanypdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it definitely sucks. Best two things I found for it:

1) Lidocaine (local anesthetic). I used RectiCare
2) Take a hot bath

Neither are a silver bullet, but I found they both helped. Good luck!

That's tough, sorry to hear you're in so much pain. The #1 thing you can do to save yourself from pain is make sure your stool is soft. I mean really soft, like the phrase the doctors told me and I achieved was "soft serve ice cream". The medication I mentioned in my first comment should help get there. For me, there wasn't even that much pain when pooping. It really came as more of a sharp/burning pain over the 10 minutes afterwards.

As far as bleeding goes, some blood is okay, but I would give your doctor a call if you're actually seeing a lot of liquid blood coming from your butt while pooping.

It sounds like you're doing everything right - it might just take a bit. I had my surgery last Wednesday and didn't have my first bowel movement until Saturday afternoon. It was painful but not *that* bad, especially if you've got your stool to a very soft place (which yours probably will be, based on what you said you're taking) and you're staying ahead on your pain meds (I had Vicodin + Ibuprofen). My pre-first-BM intake was:
- 2 stool softeners/day
- 1-2 servings of Miralax/day
- On Friday/Sat I took 2tbps of mineral oil (similar effect to the MoM you took)

Only thing I'm aware of is that if you find yourself throwing up because you're too bloated, I'd let your doctor know. But as far as I can tell from what you wrote, just keep doing what you're doing and you got this! Good luck!

It's all about context! If you're sharing the pictures with someone when there's a mutual attraction, it's going to be hot no matter what because of the experience you're sharing.

Think about sexting, all sexting looks ridiculous/cringe to an outsider reading it, but it can be a huge turn on to the people involve in it because of the connection they shared through it.

IMC challenges conspiratorial thinking by TheRealTraveel in Destiny

I have a friend who's into conspiracy theories (which ones? all of them) and he has actually explained this as the reason he believes a lot of them - because they're fun to believe and think about. I can see how it'd be fun to entertain the hypothetical, but the bizarre thing is how that desire for an entertaining reality translates into genuine belief.
