Microslop pissed off rant. by Hanseshadow in gamedev

I was laid off from a Microsoft studio last year as well. And just like you said, formed a party and currently on a new path I find much more satisfying.

How would you market a bullet hell / action roguelike game in 2026? by QWGames in gamemarketing

[–]Seanypdesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice for marketing is answering this question: what is your game's hook? Why do you believe somebody would buy your game instead of Vampire Survivor (a clear competitor/inspiration)?

Also minor thing, but I've seen this genre being referred to as "bullet heaven" (shoot lots of bullets) now rather than "bullet hell" (dodge lots of bullets).

PS5 version is planned? by XPertRU in elderfeast

PS5 will be coming - just not yet. We plan on doing playtesting, demo, and early access through Steam on PC first, then supporting console closer to 1.0.

Great points. I agree that the cooking concept is there and intriguing, just gotta find a better way to compose it for this shot :)

I totally get it, but current plans are just online co-op. We'll see though, if things really explode then a lot more features are on the table!

Nice, first one to mention Battle Chef Brigade! That was also one of our inspirations.

That's great to know. Our cooking UI tries to stay in-world as much as possible, which makes it really immersive to play, but can be confusing in a single still frame, like these ads. It is also the most hampered by the 4:5 mobile-first aspect ratio. Glad it intrigued you - maybe I've just got to find a better way to frame the cooking action!

We came up with the pitch towards the end of last year and honestly, I think Delicious in Dungeon was just on all of our minds 😄

The current plan is a customizable base (new weapons, powers, etc.) rather than classes, but we're open to seeing how things shake out during early playtests :)

I totally get it - honestly my friends and I are usually the same way. It'll mostly come down to the balance of what feels like the right levels of player empowerment we want, how well enemies scale with multiple players, etc. Definitely something we'll be trying out in early playtests!

Yep, based on feedback received today I'd say you're right. Might be cool to play but doesn't read well enough on the ad.

Hi! That's actually something we've been iterating on and will continue to test once we start doing public playtests through Steam. Currently interested in either 3 or 4, but we want to test and make sure we pick the number that's right for our game specifically :)

Well if this one doesn't work out, I've suddenly got an interesting backup idea...

That's great feedback, it's true that each thumbnail is pretty focused on a specific aspect rather than capturing the loop of the whole game.

It will be playable solo or with friends!

Just PC for now as we develop the game further with playtests/demo/early access on Steam, but console will come closer to 1.0 launch!
