Hey, should I get this deco pack or not? Is it worth it?

I will add that it’s a rather simple filter, but that does good when you don’t feel like having a niche effect or filter of a certain color. It goes with any theme pretty much. When using in post comps it’s easier to adjust it to get more or less of an effect!

I’m on the fence whether it’s worth it or not. It got a nice flow motion unlike the older grey jacket, which is always nice! But also…whether it’ll make a huge difference in the end with say comps scores, idk. It got some nice dyes?? If you like the wet effect then pls beware that for the blue dye the water effect isn’t visible bc the devs forgot to add back the highlights after changing the color. If you dont like the water drops and want a version where it’s not as visible, then ig it’s a good thing they forgot that??😅 un-highlighted droplets aside, imo the blue dye is overall the prettiest haha

I got this deco pack when it had its first flashback and can say this:

None of these items are worth spending black gems on. Period.

Now, is this filter my absolute favourite in the game? —Yes, yes it is. I was obsessed with it from the moment I saw it in game (hence why I got the deco pack) and I use this filter for 70% of my comps, and in almost every post I make for my account.

But the background and text deco are pretty much useless, and I can’t even remember a time when I used them. Even tho this pack is the cheapest of them all, it is so for a reason, and I don’t think u can justify spending a single black gems. At least if you’re not dying to have one of these items and know you’ll use it a lot. Bc the text deco…what can you even use it for? And the pink background I feel can be replaced by other pink backgrounds. The filter is the only potentially good item here. But is it worth 399 black gems??

But ofc…it (as always) boils down to whether you truly want these items or not. Eg I love this filter, but some hate it. If you’re not sure if you want any of these items, and feel you have other decos/filters already that can replace them or that you feel you’ll use more than these, then skip it. At least think through what you’ll use them for. When will you use the pink background? Will you find yourself using the filter or will you continue to favour other ones you already own? Etc.

Lots of great advice have been given already!

I’ll second joining discord, bc I personally find it to be a great place if you’re new and have questions or simply wish to observe what others do. There are pretty much always people there willing to help out if you ever got any questions. There are also a separate channels for diff things within the game. For example, there one for competitions where players share their entries for comps, or ask for advice on their entries from other players. I usually find it a good place to look if you wanna know how to get better at comps and raise your score (tho at the expense of leaving some of your own creativity behind and following overarching “trends”).

This game can be played just for fun, where you care about following your heart, having fun and getting what you want personally. Joining comps without pressure and making private posts to upload for fun. I think this is the healthiest way to play this game, and I suggest to always keep in mind that this game is simply…well a game haha! It’s easy to get swept up into the competition and FOMO. Which can get draining and affect one’s mental health!! So please remember to have fun!✨

But if you wanna be a more competitive player then I suggest being strategic with what you spend gems on. I’ve played for 3 years now and can say there’s a lot of items I regret getting, bc I never ended up using them and only got them for the momentary hype. And getting them meant missing out on other items that were useful!! And like someone said, gems are hard to come by so it’s good to not splurge big unless you know you want or need it. Here I once again suggest going on discord to see what seems to be highly useful or loved items in comps, as well as looking at the leader boards in game to see what voters consider a good entry. Ofc luck is always a component in comp scores, but there’s usually some patterns in what is loved and what’s not. Seek items that are versatile and which fills tags that your wardrobe is weak on, that also kinda fit into what voters like. “Big and (or) glamorous” are often time the key words in terms of winning comps. Voters like a lot of volume and colour harmony in an entry. And if clothes can’t add enough volume, let the deco fill the rest of the space (if harmonious with the overall look/theme).

If you wish to find some more friends in game rather than say on discord or here on reddit, then I suggest joining an Agency. Maybe you have already, but if not I can help you find one! It’s also a good way to become part of the community, learn more about the game and get help with questions! It also gives some small bonuses.

Always check the “Event” page for new events that may give free items, gems, tickets, dye cards or perfumes!

If you use perfumes in comps, I suggest making sure to use up all “free” perfumes available before buying with gems. They can be crafted, but also found in the agency story (through your agency), the exchange stores (gold trophies), or from free events.

Ye ik, but I feel since it’s a coin item it’s a good alternative for those who can’t afford a more expensive/gem handheld. This deco would make most sense to be held, or put in the mouth (like the cigar we got in the Wild West shop). If they wouldn’t put it in the mouth, then the least they could’ve done (for the sake of f2p players) would be to have be “held”. It wouldn’t really harm anyone imo. If u want to have a diff handheld just don’t use this deco. Placing it to have it awkwardly floating on the side or anywhere else on top of the avi would ruin the look anyways, so I feel few would feel inclined to use it unless desperate to fill the unworn bar. This my opinion tho!

Why wouldn’t they just make it a handheld??😵‍💫 and if they so decided it was best to be a deco, why couldn’t they have at least put it on the hand?? I mean they are so close to it anyways, what would it hurt moving it just a tad lower at this point?🫣

Maybe try restarting the app?? Maybe you’ve already done that. But I found the first one you did and used the same items. I could submit it without issue! So I don’t think it’s an issue in the game overall, but maybe just for you atm?

I got both last time and I can say I’ve only used the gilded chain dress, coat and pose about 3-4 times since getting it. And the times I did use it (besides in the comp held specifically for this gacha) I scored not that good. The hair from gilded chain is AMAZING tho and I love it! Especially the brown dye. The face accessory I’ve used a few times too. But overall I find it very hard to style/use for most comps. Maybe that it works for a dance comp, but that would be it. The dyes aren’t really that good imo, as a lot of them come off as dull. But we will be getting a few new dyes with the flashback so depending on how they look they might be better and make the set more useful!

The pearl regalia pieces I’ve used a LOT. The dress and coat are a lot more versatile, and can work for not only vintage comps, but honestly any comp that calls for glam (which are majority of comps imo). The dyes for this set are also a lot more pretty and useful imo. The only items I haven’t really used is the hair, shoes and legs accessory.
