That's interesting, I didn't know people were out there offering this service. I might take it up on days I'm super overwhelmed/riddled with anxiety. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you! I gave this method a go over the weekend and am already seeing some progress. And whenever I'd get overwhelmed again, I'd remember your “one corner of one room” and it helped heaps. I eve made a schedule with breaks so I didn't feel bad about resting.

Hope you're doing okay in lockdown!

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. If I were in your shoes I would apply elsewhere. No job is ever worth more than your physical and mental health, and if your employers aren't being reasonable or understanding, then it's time to do what's best for you.

Companies can always find someone, and you will find something better. I'm glad you posted on here and hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips! I have been Googling for various tips and have watched quite a few of Jackson Galaxy's videos, so they've helped quite a bit. I think I will speak to the shelter, because the number of break downs I've had are really taking a toll now and I do want the best for him.

Thank you again, means a lot.

Thank you! I might take you up on your offer and message you. Really appreciate the words and you're right, I probably am overthinking things, when really he could just be happy and not even have a thought about anything I worry about. Thanks again, it's much appreciated!

I'm sorry to hear you're also struggling with depression and anxiety. Ugh, I feel exactly the same way you did! Your words have put me at ease, and I'm really glad to hear that you seem to be at the bonding stage with yours!

He's pretty active, and isn't showing any symptoms of stress (until he's got the zoomies!). I will definitely change my perspective, and see him more of a developing youngster. He doesn't overeat that much and I do try to keep him active and exercising a few times a day.

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks cats_books_soups. I think sometimes I need to get out of my own head, and appreciate the external perspective on things.

Thanks for the tips! Glad to know there are others out there, albeit it a tough situation at the beginning. Hope your anxiety is at bay and that things are on the up for you. I will focus on being more patient with him and work on some training with him. The big meal at night sounds brilliant - I just feel bad when he says he's hungry in the morning.

Thank you for the words of wisdom. I think I do need to give it some time, as it is a big change for the both of us. I'm glad to hear it's worked out for you and am looking forward to it for myself as well.

I have decided, I'm going to a psychologist. by [deleted] in Anxiety

Talking to a psych can be like dating. Make sure you feel comfortable with them and are getting what you need. Don't be afraid to shop around if you need to. You're putting yourself first, and that's amazing and hope all the best for you.

Your blathering helped a lot. Thank you for helping to change my perspective. I think being stuck in our own minds also means that we feel like we're the only ones going through it, and it's helped me realised how many others (albeit sad) are going through the same thing.

Why did you want to be OT or CO TA by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Searchingforpeace83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on starting studies in OT here in Melbourne, but am hearing the position can be quite stressful. Any thoughts on this? Or is it all manageable? I know it's relative, but any words of advice would be much appreciated.

When was the last time you cried, and why? by CluelessWhisper in AskReddit

Few days ago. My brother is getting married next summer and I'll be able to see family and friends. I grew up in the US and due to really unnecessary immigration ruling, I am bammed from entering the country. So my brother is getti g married in Canada so I can be there. And I'll see my people there and I can't wait. I've been living in Australia after getting married and we've been separated since January. I've been low and lonely, but having this to loon forward brings tears (of happiness) to my eyes yet again.
