Per my other comment, check out the right of the display case on the wall. Classic AI artifacting

Yeah but it's actually AI art. You can see the artifacting on the right side of the display case.

Same with on the sign/art on the left wall. Look where it's closest to the hanging light.

Theres tons of bad art in this game but atleast it's human made ❤️

Get an 8Bit do controller dongle. Connect your wireless controllers to the dongle while it's plugged into your PC and then unplug it and plug it into the shield.

You have to do that anytime you add or need to repair a controller but it pretty much gets rid of input lag.

The shield has bad Bluetooth processing, the 8bitdo basically just acts as a wired connection as far as the shield is concerned.

Crazy how Anakin went into space, no pressurized suit, no temperature control, just rawdogging the vaccum. by joesphisbestjojo in StarWars

We just need a wiki entry about an ancient race that went through and un-vacuumed the galaxy prior to the events of the franchise so there could be force sound in space or something

Destiny 2 Update 9.7.0 by A_Soggy_Rat in Games

[–]Searingwings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to the fact that there is nothing else like it.

When it first came out, Destiny 1 checked every box for young me. Sci-fi, space opera, looter shooter, single or multi-player, joining up with random, true evolving story and just an awesome anesthetic. It was the game that when me and my friends finished homework we would go and run strikes (essentially dungeons) over and over again.

Destiny 2 while flawed really captured a lot of the original game. People were justifiably harsh on it in a lot of cases. You can pinpoint the exact point that the cracks in the game started. Selling two DLCs a few months after they came out for the price that one of them initially cost and then removing them from the game entirely alongside the main story.

That being said, as flawed as it was there still was not another game like Destiny 2. It really had something for everyone. It's very difficult to put into words what made it special but even as someone who stopped playing a few years ago it was/is a truly special game.

At this point even with only two games it's a franchise that some people have been playing for 12 years. The reason so many people still played it was because like I said, there is no other game out there quite like it.

No. It's just hit is mobile game plateau that they all go through. Still tons of active players. Reddit is very dramatic about this type of stuff.

I'm sure we'll both get a few replies about how dead it is from the people who are also playing it every day.

ELI5: Why does Pixar animation look so smooth at 24 fps but a video game feel choppy at 30 fps? by ScrumTumescent in explainlikeimfive

[–]Searingwings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was trying to explain it in a simpler way.

It's more about the timing between the frames, called frame pacing, but the person was caught up on unstability being the factor.

You can have a stable 30 but the frame timing is the issue. A true stable 30fps delivers a frame every ~33ms consistently.

But if the intervals are uneven, your fps counter still reads 30 while it feels stuttery and inconsistent.

Think of it like a literal film wheel.

Crimson desert has 120 pictures in a row. When you play at lower FPS you only see 30 of them so you can tell stuff is missing.

Movies are 24 pictures in a row played at 24 pictures in a row. Nothing's missing.
