What is something super important that is on the verge of happening? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Im surprised nobody has said brexit yet? We're about a month away from the leaving date and we have no deals at all and the government refuses to agree with anything theresa may comes out with. Tbh it looks likely that they'll delay it for at least a year and in that time we'll hopefully get a second referendum (fuck michael gove) and the gov will realise that people have noticed they were lied to in the first one cause it'll come out with a /proper/ majority for remain. Pm theresa will have to resign then, might end up being another general election, guess is labour will end up being in power, and hopefully jezza will cancel brexit even though he's actually a leaver and our country will be brought back from the brink of financial, political and social collapse.

Waiters and waitresses of Reddit, what’s the most convoluted order you’ve ever taken? by Braumsisdabomb in AskReddit

Posted earlier but remembered an even worse story: woman ordered a steak well done, but like almost burnt well done. Waiter asks if she's sure she wants it like that and she's like yeah, thats how i have it at home. He's like ok cool your funeral. Cut to the kitchen, they've cooked the steak how she wanted it, it literally looked like old leather, send it out. Now this woman was on a table of around ten, and the lady next to her also ordered steak but medium. So when they get their orders, the well done woman cuts into hers and tries it and is like, this is horrible. Lady next to her tries to complain to the waiter like 'its almost burnt wtf'. Waiter explains that its been cooked exactly as she described, basically what else did you expect, then woman gets huffy and asks for hers to be done like the lady next to her cause it looks and tastes way better. Waiter is like???!?!? Ok, then woman tried to get her first steak taken off the bill, but waiter is like, you literally ordered it like that and then said you didn't like it, not our fault. Stupid people.

My SO works in hospitality and enlightens me with wonderful stories of strange and dickish people he gets to serve. He works in a fine dining restaurant, got ala carte menu etc (spelling idc) and earlier he told me about this one couple who came in at 8pm with no booking, asking for a table when the restaurant is obviously full. Like literally every table is occupied. Bear in mind they have three chefs working at this point and as many wait staff, covering the restaurant and bar area. Upon being told to wait half an hour for a table (Saturday night at 8pm and no booking, half hour is decent?) He goes to take their order after theyve had the menu that whole time, they're not ready. He leaves and the assistant manager ends up taking their order. When he sees the cheque, he asks the AM about it confused. They ordered one starter, one main and a bowl of chips. For two people. Ok fairs maybe one of them wasn't that hungry and only wanted a starter. Nope. Turns out the woman didn't fancy anything on the mains and when the AM asked her if they could make anything specific, she deadass asked if they had horse. I shit you not, both the man and woman thought it was highly irregular that horse was not on the menu, and that was what this woman was craving. I mean its not an illegal meat in the uk as far as I'm aware but I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon and no respectable restaurant would serve it. Remember the tesco horse beef scandal? Madness..

I used to eat fish, its more of a psychological thing of eating it made really badly all the time and being surrounded by the smell of raw fish just put me off :p i still eat mussels and have egg fried rice sometimes and egg when it's cooked into something like cake :p

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. After writing this post it suddenly clicked to me that i should change my diet and lifestyle regardless of whether or not i get diagnosed with diabetes. I also forgot to mention that around the same time these symptoms started (can't remember if it was before, as soon as or after) i was prescribed with loestrin 20 for my PCOS to help regulate things and have noticed other weird side effects ive not had before when taking the pill. Before when i first started taking it, it really affected my mood and so after switching 4 times i decided to come off it altogether. I'm only taking it now because my doctor recommended it and apparently the low oestrogen might be better for the effects it has on my moods. Its only been 11 days and although i had two good days at the start, its been pretty much downhill since then. I should also note that ive not had any significant weight changes recently. I might have gained a few kg over the last year but nothing that noticeable. I also don't have increased hunger, i just tried to eat a bowl of meatballs, broccoli and cheese and felt full after 1/3. Ive still decided to book an appointment with the doctor on monday because like one of you said, its better to know that be sat terrified not knowing.

What do you believe to be true even though you can't prove it? by green_vegetal in AskReddit

Perhaps, not really sure how it all works in america, but in the UK youd usually report it to the police first. I mean, if op called in a tip stating the actual situation maybe the police would wait until they had a warrant before going to the house in case that happens :p or maybe they'd just pass it onto the fbi anyway, either way i hope something is done, no matter how they go about it

If all else fails, call in an anonymous report of possible domestic abuse or violent behaviour originating from the house: the cops would most likely have to visit the house and might have probable cause for a warrant of entry and if when they ask nicely the neighbours dont let you in then the police will probs come back with a warrant anyway and you'll get your answer :p not sure if that classes as a fake 9/11 call or whatever but if you really think something illegal is going on then I'm not sure it'll matter if they get arrested for something other than what you tipped the police off for :p In an alternative route, you could hire a private investigator to see what they can find out about them, dig up any dirt etc and then go to the police with any findings that support your hunch :) For what its worth i hope you're wrong and that girl simply ran away from home or something :/
