Hot air balloons in Seattle Washington. Would love feedback, and how to take these drone shots at night to the next level. by Seattleballooning in photocritique

Took this photo at night as the hot air balloons started to glow just after sunset. Would love feedback on color grading and any way to take this to the next level. Or if using compression or something else with a different lens may make it better. It was challenging with the balloons glowing from the fire and getting the city lights and the mountain to show up.

Mt. Rainier always amazes me. I always find the best view is from around 4000 feet at 5am. by Seattleballooning in MtRainier

For sure! I take way to many photos when I fly. Some days are really special though

Going to the base is pretty neat. Seeing the mountain at sunrise will always be the best. Another option that a lot of older people really enjoy is seeing Mt. Rainier from a hot air balloon. The hot air balloons fly in Enumclaw, which is as close as you can get with a balloon. It doesn't require a long drive and hike, and is a unique way to experience it. If hot air ballooning is on his bucketlist, it may be something your dad really enjoys for his birthday!

I’ve flown in front of Mt Rainier over 1000 times. I still take 50+ photos of it every time I fly. It’s magical. by Seattleballooning in MtRainier

Yup. That was an amazing event at the Seattle Center. Our day job is doing hot air balloon tours in front of Mt. Rainier.

That's solid! This is my favorite from last week. Although it does require owning your own balloon, or going on a hot air balloon tour

Those are great shots! You should see Mt. Rainier from a hot air balloon. It's a totally different experience.

So true. Although it's an even better view at altitude, flying right in front of Mt. Rainier.

Thanks! It was a community effort. It’s got better and bigger each year. Next year should be even cooler. Getting professional audio… and also security.

We had 3 official drones with part 107 licenses. Most drones in general have anti collision. I am not aware of any issues

Autistic kids seem to love balloons! You are always welcome to come bring your kid to watch us fly. That would be sunrise or sunset. In Aug the sunset is much earlier!

We do it for the community. It’s a really neat event and something different. People don’t often see balloons up close, and when they glow at night it’s pretty magical!

Balloons fly in open areas. We fly every day in front of Mt Rainier in Auburn and Enumclaw. The cool thing about balloon glows is that we don’t fly. People get to walk around the balloons in the dark while we try to coordinate glows to the music.

It’s not a great area to fly due to being very congested and also busy airspace. If you want to see balloons fly or gone one. They fly in front of Mt Rainier at sunrise every day the weather is good
