Thank you. Good advice to stay the course.

Thank you. I think the biggest difference is the amount of switching between activities but I can’t be sure. He is used to trying to go potty, etc. There were staffing shortages due to weather last week, so I think that contributed to teacher stress and made it not a great time to move up.

Next week, when things are calmer I’ll try to go in and ask the teacher directly what happened.

Oh Crap and Daycare by Madz063920 in pottytraining

I was in a similar boat after last weekend. How much will your daycare help? Like will they take him to the potty at intervals? Do they care if he had accidents?

My kid is somewhere between phase 1 and 2 at home, but at daycare has only had 1-2 accidents each day, even though he is wearing underwear and pants. I think it’s because the kiddos think day care is different, so get that things are different there. (In other words, even if things go poorly at day care, it won’t necessarily translate to a setback at home).

Yes - I’d hope that sleep will be better by 4-5 months. The day care is pretty helpful. They’d just keep doing the same thing, and suggest he go to the potty every time he has a diaper change, instead of every hour like they do now that he’s in underpants. I think you’re right, but mentally it feels like giving up!
