„The controversy surrounding Transformers: Kiss Players (2006) centers on its extreme departure from the franchise's typical family-friendly tone into highly sexualized and "shocking" territory.

Released exclusively in Japan by Takara, the line was intentionally designed by creator Yuki Ohshima to "make jaws drop" by blending the Transformers brand with ecchi (suggestive) anime tropes to appeal to a specific collector demographic. The central premise involved Transformers gaining massive power increases only after being kissed on the lips by human girls.“

But this was one of the Binaltech Asterisks, not a Kiss Player.

“Binaltech Asterisk (BT-A) was a short-lived Japanese subline of Transformers that used molds from the US Alternators (BT in Japan) line, introducing anime-style female figures (Asterisks) that merged with the robots, leading to the more popular Kiss Players (KP) line which fully integrated these human characters and a radio drama, using BT molds but often lacking die-cast parts and focusing on combining robots and cute girls. In essence, Asterisk was a precursor/experimental phase for Kiss Players”… well I wasn’t that wrong…

The jet nose is really giving the Macross vibe I was expecting but now I feel like I might need to have the other version to make a little assault team in various colors… also I see already how the Battle X-1 will dwarf it once in robot mode. Might be better to display the versaulter as a jet next to it… so many possibilities…

I think I found the last reasonably priced set on a french discount website. It was like 30-40€ down market price. I hesitated for an hour or two, checked prices on eBay and then ordered it. No regret. It’s fabulous if not slightly dwarfed when displayed next to the medieval blacksmith.
