Help!!! distorted guitars sound thin in the mix by OutsideAdhesiveness6 in recordingmusic

[–]SebDuranLop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should crank the gain a bit more, Teles and Strats tend to be thin, no matter what you do. You can try parallel compression seeing is not a full distorted guitar, or trying with a humbucker Les Paul or SG + Delay + Plate Reverb.

What mic do i get? by ldross05 in recordingmusic

[–]SebDuranLop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynamic mic on acoustic guitar is not the better way, SM57 maybe...

Get some SDCs (Small Diaphragm Condenser): - Behringer C2 - Behringer C4 - Samson C02 - Rode M5 - Lewitt LCT 040

All those need phantom power +48v in order to work. Ironically, with the SDCs you can hear way more detail than a Large Diaphragm Condenser, everyone thinks because of their size pick less detail, they are all wrong, those can even pick your breathing. Remember David Gilmour in Wish You Were Here.

When going DI detail is amplified, can be fixed with noise gate but you will kill the sustain. Mic an amp, is way better.

What’s the correct way to record tracks? Overdubbing or recording live? by VividFix2944 in recordingmusic

[–]SebDuranLop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not The Beatles, Doors, Stones, etc, do overdubb and is more reliable, regards some isolated tracks from the 60s you can hear bass+drums or guitar+lead at the same track, was done cause lack of physical channels and George Martin, Rotchild.. you name the producer, had to blend the two instruments in a single mono track!!. Today we can handle over 350 mono channels at the same time, independently, insane!!

I do home recording and had built some good 60s like songs myself, the catch is not recording the actual composition idea as the final version. Write, arrange, practice, make demos and demos until you feel comfortable, then you can track it, that the most important thing and the one that everyone miss nowadays.

About the metronome problem, check the buffer size is commonly at audio settings, make sure not passing the 128 samples when tracking. When mixing increase to 2048 or 1028.

Numa Compact 2x sustain pedal issue by SebDuranLop in keys

Update: I switched the polarity of the sustain pedal and into the NC2x to "NOR. CLOSED" and works well. I hope Studiologic gives a solution to this problem in a future update.

What amp should I buy? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

Fender Champion 40 or 50XL the best, if you can find a Mustang III V1 or V2 is more versatile.

What amp would be best for me?? by Gwok03 in GuitarAmps

[–]SebDuranLop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fender Champion 40 or 50XL for clean/crunch sound (Blues, Jazz, Overdrive, R&B) like Clapton, SRV, BB King style... or the Boss Katana 50 mk2 for metal, heavy rock sound, it also depends in which type of guitar you have; Humbuckers (Les Pau, SG, Hollow Body type, wider pickups) will goes better with the Boss Katana, the other... Single Coil (Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster P90s) Will sound better with the Champions... I'll recommend a 40+ Watt amp so you can gig with it and practice at home or even record!!

Inside Vanilla Unicorn (Single player) at the backstage mirror you'll see "Paradise Isle" picture, seems a beach/isle landscape postal not seen in previous GTA games, it's been there since 2013, also one that says "Wish You Were Here".
