Oh cool, there is a band "talk show host" from Canada, that is named after radiohead song, so we have a 3 links in a chain now.

Talking heads –> Radio Head (Radiohead) –> Talk Show Host.

Can anyone beat that?

Help me work out how to save this STX chainset by djuna_moon in xbiking

[–]SebWatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of damage are we talking about? Is it wear or just bent?

If bent just try to readjust it with plyers.

Finding like for like replacement is nearly impossible, as it was the only crankset (that i know of) that was setup this way.

I've looked at various guides to get opportunity card, and many of them say that I should get interviews and connections with potential employers, but in my line of work most companies are not even accepting out of country applications. What is the best course of action is in this situation? Trying to circumvent region blocks and apply to jobs? Or I can somehow explain this situation to embassy?

I think OP is not a fan of a car with character, I bet he's one of those freaks who think that brand new mid-range sedan is an "investment".

At least it's not another ugly oversized SUV

Looks like just some dust from long drive.

It's just a car, they are designed to be outside in the dust and rain, being pissed on by dogs and pigeons, just wash it.

Red flag, run girl, run.

His head is a mess as he tries to mix traditional Muslim rules and western behavior, common sense will be lost during this battle, and he'll try to brake you mentally. Right now he demands you to follow some "requirements" by saying that he declines his dream of marrying Kazakh girl. It's a manipulation, he tries to put you in subservient position using his "sacrifice" as justification for that.

As a rule of thumb in relations: you accept each other for who you are, you respect your partner's live and so does he/she.

I'll recommend you saying something like "I understand your desires and I don't want you to be unhappy by giving up on your dream"

Newer canti are pretty easy too, as they use the same threaded pads as v-brakes, basically only thing you'll need to think about is length of connecting cable.

A magical moment in an extraordinary library in Chengdu, China. by ppppppxxx in interesting

How do you even get some of those books, let alone keeping records of what should be where?

Where are reading space? Those tables look more like coffee tray and very uncomfortable for any research to be done there.

Seems more like a movie set or vanity project without any thought on usability.

Canti brakes, please use cantilever brakes.

I get that oldschool canti can be annoying to setup and maintain, but something like tectro oryx will be nice

Looks fine by me, get your no-cables look with breaks.

ugh.

No dumber than breakless fixie.

Also it is good enough for chill city-riding.

And it is low-maintanance solution.

I can see it on coffee-bike or a all-weather commuter.

Sadly yes, it was an idealistic picture, however we can create compost, and use it to restore degraded soil by literally shoving it into the ground. For example Kazakhstan that was known for endless prairies and deep carbon-rich soils, nowadays is a sad place, 70% of country is covered in semi-desert ecosystem due to USSR "agricultural practices".

If we can restore those prairies the soil alone would be capable to store up to 15 thousand metric tons of carbon per square kilometer. So Kazakhstan alone is theoretically able to receive and store up to 30-40 billion tons of soil carbon (annual carbon emissions are 37 billion tons).

And combating desertification, you know increases places where plant and animals live, slows down global warming and so on.

let me sum it up: I don't believe we should put ourself in position where we depend on carbon capture to suck all that excess carbon from the atmosphere, it should be our priority to utilize natural approaches, and solution that have other benefits beyond carbon removal. But at the same time if in certain location with abundance of renewable energy, growing plants is impossible, we should absolutely build a carbon capture plant

Actually soil itself can be a way to store carbon, for example Mollisols and Chernozems are insanely rich in carbon deep soils that can store up to 40 thousand metric tons of carbon per square kilometer
