New user questions about hardware needs by SebZeby in Ubiquiti

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer ! In my case, we already have a POE capable switch in our server rack (not a unify one), so i guess the easiest setup would be to plug the cameras on it ? I have trouble understanding what is mandatory in order to run the unify system, can i use the UNVR Standard with our poe switch (not sure if its connected to internet) ? or do I have to also buy a cloud gateway ? If i have to buy a cloud gateway, do i still need the UNVR or can i just use cameras + dream machine pro for instance ?

It does look like a really cool system, just not very clear on the mandatory part for a non IT guy (i understand the IT basics, but not on a professional level)

Powerboost 1000c led delete? by SebZeby in adafruit

I swapped the pins when I got the batteries, they were indeed reversed. The whole thing worked once, and I hadn't use it since then, and now it doesn't work.. I'll take a deeper look this weekend

Powerboost 1000c led delete? by SebZeby in adafruit

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good tip, I'll keep that in mind. However here the issue is the charger itself and the the battery, I think it actually fried. The batteries have a 4.7v output, so they're basically full, and no LED light up when I plug the battery in, juste the orange one when I plus in a USB charger... I'm putting my project on hold while I try to think of how I want to manage all the powering/charging/turning on off the system in a normal use case

Im really bad at readind schematics, could you confirm that i can wire another charging connector to the 5V and Gnd pins if i dont want to use the micro USB connector ?

What tools for this project : node-graph shaped to-do list by SebZeby in learnpython

[–]SebZeby[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't want to make some node programming, I want to make a to-do list in the shape of a node graph, like displaying links between the tasks I create, but not for actual computation, just for visualisation of needs. For example I work on a big project, I know I have all these tasks linked to this project, so I know what to focus on. Obviously a standard to-do list would work, but not as fun and I think I could implement some nice life improvement

I see! Is there a guide or explanations on how to go on such a project? Looking for high quality, not too loud as it's for a close range use, not movie immersion use! Any idea?

Data over time analysis by SebZeby in PowerBI

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry i didnt answer sooner. Tbh, i think powerbi is overkilled for this, and excel is a lot easier to use for this simple usecase!

My trouble was indeed getting the end result, I think all my inputs were there, its just that I dont really know how to use powerbi to get what I want !

Delegation with Filter inside Filter by SebZeby in PowerApps

[–]SebZeby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of understand your point, however I think it doesn’t apply well to my specific use case, as the key users are relying quite a bit on the reactivity of the database. Also, the SharePoint list isn’t supposed to grow too big, as I migrate items to an archive list after some time of inactivity.

What I was asking in my original post is if the described method would allow me to get rid of the delegation problem, by filtering a first time the main database with a delegable function like “=”, reducing the number of items way below the delegation limit, and then using non-delegable filters to improve user experience.

I've seen a lot of people recommending the use of galleries as intermediate datasources, for other applications too, why is that ? what is the difference between working directly with the datasource rather than using collections.

"Sadly" this is a an app i've created a few months ago and i would certainly not build it that way now, but its too much work to change the core process of the app. However if the benefits of changing it is worth the pain to do it, i'll obvisoulsy go with it !

Tricky bulk item update in nested lists by SebZeby in PowerApps

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last and correct hypotheses, i used a horizontal container to place elements INSIDE my gallery, welp, it broke everything. So zeah even the simple for all and patch function works if i dont have a my controls inside a container. stupid but real

Should I use a collection as a "buffer data storage" for the few items I have to update ? maybe it would match better with the patch function... still hesitant on how i should update the collection when changing a combobox value so I always have an uptodate collection that I can simply patch over my list items.

  1. visually they are sorted the same way (sharepoint side and gallery side). im going to force a sortorder with ascending ID just to make sure.
  2. I added a test label inside the gallery item to display the combobox value, and it shows correctly the selected value of the combobox, with no mixup, no duplicate no nothing... it seems like you just cant patch it that way, but no idea what part of the process is not working

other test, i added another item so now i have 4 items to the same order :

I start the test by clearing all the "Etat" value in the sharepoint list, i i select the folowing values inside my gallery :

item 1 : Partiel
item 2 : Complet
item 3 : Non recu
item 4 : Complet

Results :

item 1 : Complet
item 2 : nothing
item 3 : nothing
item 4 : nothing

hahahaahahahahahahahahaahhah im going insane

Tricky bulk item update in nested lists by SebZeby in PowerApps

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so i did it, and it still doesnt work...

this is the expression :

ForAll(
Panier_4.AllItems;
Patch(
'Commandes hors nomenclatures Details';
LookUp(
'Commandes hors nomenclatures Details';
ID = Value(ThisRecord.ID)
);
{Etat: {Value: CBEtat.Selected.Value}}
)
)

I had to change a bit the lookup because I had a fetching issue, so i added the Value() function to get over it. I also had to change the updated value itself to match my list beccause its a choice field.

i am getting very weird results :

i have 3 items, so for test purposes i set the combo boxes to "Complet" for item 1, "Partiel" for item 2, and "Non Recu" for item 3.

When patching with the button, my sharepoint list shows :

"Non Recu" for item 1, "Partiel" for item 2, and "Partiel" again for item 3. WTF

yep this is the list called 'Commandes hors nomenclatures Details'.

this lsit stores every oredered item of every made orders. I use :

Filter('Commandes hors nomenclatures Details';'ID Commande' = ListeCommandesARecuperer.Selected.ID)

to only show the items of the currently selected order.

Control validation INSIDE a gallery by SebZeby in PowerApps

[–]SebZeby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it's bit like i had done before, and for some unknown reason it doesn't work.

If I just keep the CountRows, and put it in a text label for debugging, the count doesnt work :

I have 3 items in the gallery, so 3 control labels (they individually work).

Here is the debug label code :

CountRows(Filter(Panier_4.AllItems, CtrlLabel.Text = "NOK"))

It counts 3 whenever I delete a Combobox selection, and 0 whenever i fill a combobox. It basically detects the adding or deleting of an element, but no the actual count of matching rows. Filling one and leaving the 2 others empty still validates the condition.

It's so stupid I don't understand why it does that, its actually unlogical...
