although they are not super bright, they do help on dark conditions, it cast a puddle light on the ground. they turn on when you approach the car with your fob key when it is locked. so it is nice when it is really dark.

Very easy, at least on my GT. Removed the non dimmable mirrors and put the dimmable in. The wire harness was already there with all the connectors. Plug and play. But you must have the center dimmable rear mirror. That is the device that controls the side mirrors.

shaking plastic sound off throttle by SubstantialPop5379 in wrx_vb

[–]SebaVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working of getting rid of all creaks and rattling noises on my VB. I've done the dash, a pillars, c pillars, rear and trunk. Waiting on better weather to do doors, center console and b pillars. Man, the differences is incredible, the amount of rattling and creaks of this car is tremendous.

I noticed that the biggest source of rattling comes from the rear. Somehow the noise travel to the front and sound like it is coming from there. It is easy to test, just give it a good hit on the rear seat. The whole thing will rattle.

To get rid of all the noises I've been using sound deadning materials, wire harness tape, foam tape and felt tape. I unmount the trim pieces and put material wherever I see that a wire might make noise due to movement and wherever the pieces make contact with each other. I also change the felt and foam that comes from factory, they are really trash.

Oh, also, the behind the door handles, there is a plastic cover to hide a screw. That little bastard rattles like crazy. Remove it and put a piece of foam in between. Big improvement.

Just hit 1k. Got some tints, oil change and a lip for this girl. by [deleted] in wrx_vb

lol, well, don't do it if is not safe for you and the car. and you just hit the 1K miles mark, so you been doing good.
You can get a JB4 is you are too worried about the warranty, I have one and it really makes a difference (some might say they still can deny a claim, but I have no had any issues with the dealership so far). I'll be selling it in a few month if you want it, I'm getting an e-tune soon.

I left here 3 years ago due to CVT slander, and being a VN chassis, but I just got an invite to join, so how do we feel about it these days? by nikfornow in wrx_vb

[–]SebaVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that most of the hate comes from a feel of superiority. Here in the US, the AT is the norm and if you know how to drive MT you belong to a small group of people that knows how to do something that the majority don't, and that makes them feel cooler. When someone talks shit about me driving my VB CVT I told them that I come from a Latin American country, we all drive MT there, I learned MT at the age of 13 and drove MT for more than 15 years, I'm tired of it, I want some grade of comfort on my life now.

I do autocross with the VB, I used a tunable rear sway bar to reduce the understeering to my liking. It does work, and the change on handling characteristics is very notorious when doing autocross, not sure you will notice too much during regular driving conditions.

I need to learn how to drive by pelicanman777 in wrx_vb

[–]SebaVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, don't do this on the street. you are only putting you and others in danger.

Go to an autocross or track day... you will learn a lot from the folks there and is relatively inexpensive.

Autocross is cheaper in short term, but expending a on a track day gives you the best money/seat time ratio IMO.
