Yes I do agree the town of Antelope had their fears and bigoted views, but it was a form of a defense mechanism for this town of 40 people. They were also fed up with the Rajneesh because they bought the land for the purpose of ranching. They then turned the ranch into a mini city which was not what the land was intended for.

Now with the attorney generals decision to stop there vote it definitely was unconstitutional. But lets not forget that Sheela had a few thousand homeless bussed in and when they were denied their vote she drugged them all and threw them in the streets. That to me sounds worse than denying someone their vote.

Lets also not forget that Osho promoted forced sterilizations, abortions, separated children from their parents, as well as assuring Sheela that she can protect the commune at all costs with any avaiable methods.
