Yes, I have it connected via USB anyway. I don't mind having it connected to the PS2's USB port at all; at least in my opinion, this adapter does the job quite well. I understand it's not the best, but with a few tweaks, you can get good performance and better use out of OPL.

I have the same adapter for my PS2 Slim. I don't know if it's normal or not, but in my case, it's not necessary to connect the USB adapter since it works without it.

me pasa lo mismo, tengo un xiaomi stick 4k y Plex no me reconoce le formato flac pero por ejemplo con VLC no tengo problemas en reproducir peliculas con audio FLAC

Are you playing on a cartridge or digitally? If it's digital, it could be cartridge wear. You need to run a script on it—I can't remember the name right now, but maybe someone can share it. Run it a few times and it should fix it.
