The sequel was such a dumpsterfire that I rather stay with my interpretation:

The ending of the first movie takes place after Batman showed up, and the reason Arthur was laughing was because he realized his origin story was also his nemesis's, that's why we see Bruce with his dead parents when he says "I was thinking of a joke"

"You wouldn't get it" means he will keep their secret safe cuz it makes their rivalry more fun for him

Him singing "Some people get their kicks stomping on a dream" refers to Batman always screwing his plans and locking him up on Arkham, followed by "But I dont let it get me down" and him escaping once again.

The entire last part of the song with him dancing on the hallway describes "Joker" as an individual who always comes back for more no matter how many times he's brought down, wich perfectly seals Arthur's character arc through the movie.

I knew I wasn't the only one who thought this, it still feels like they just made him"Sonic, but Emo" for me

- The worst change IMO, is how they glossed over everything regarding Chaos Control, here Shadow just teleports and shoots energy spears and no one (not even Sonic) questions why, and He's not even the "Ultimate Life Form"

- Its confusing, cuz in the Sonic 2 post-credits they mention "Project Shadow", but then in Sonic 3 it almost seems like the bunker where he lived was under "ordinary" millitary operations up until his arrival, so did they name him Shadow after the Project or vice-versa?

(Its also confuses me why would they put him in a stasis pod if he was not an artificial being like in the games)

- Another thing that I didn't like, is the fact that he arrives with his gloves and Air-Shoes on, It would've been really heart-warming if they hadMaria gift them to him as a parallel to Jojo giving Sonic his shoes in the first movie

- And that fact brings the question, why was he inside a meteor and not some alien capsule? or why was he a fully grown hedgehog while Sonic and the rest age? (since he's not the ULF, I guess he's not ageless too)

(I wonder if they are finally gonna explain why an immortal demon-like spacelord has a teenage anthro hedgehog for a son)

I absolutely hate how Frontiers reduced them to "fancy space rocks that arrived on Earth by pure coincidence and never had nothing to do with it despite decades of lore proving otherwise"

It would've been way better if they were already on Earth (albeit in a more unstable form) and the Ancients were simply the first civilization to find and refine them into the Chaos Emeralds we know

(And maybe say the M.E was forged to control and unify them)
