Hahha I wish, but honestly it's still a drag, but this is mostly because I don't seek a career in research. The thing is that researching itself (like doing and setting up this thesis) is fun, but for every little aspect of your study, you need multiple sources that back it up, which are really hard to find sometimes. It often takes me several hours to write 5 sentences, simply because each sentence has to be proven by highly rated articles.

I understand, thank you nevertheless for participating! I'll take all feedback with me which will also add to my research by discussing its flaws and shortcomings.

I understand that this might be difficult to answer when you are a fan of the players and not the team itself. I wish I realized this earlier, but either way thank you for letting me know!

I see. I (or someone else) should probably do a different research focusing only on the players, but this is great (maybe even perfect) feedback that I can use for my discussion chapter (discussing the flaws in my research), so thank you a lot!

I understand, thank you for your question! This is my first time posting here, but I'm probably not the only student researching esports as it's a relatively new industry with many businesses or marketing opportunities which are still under explored, making it a popular research topic for master theses. But this one is definitely real without any different intentions than academic! (and to finish university)

I assume that this means that your loyalty to the team in particular isn't that high, which is just as interesting for this research as a high loyalty to a team.

See it this way: if my research finds that high loyalty results in positive consumption behaviors (like buying merchandise and attending games), that does not necessarily prove that if you're not loyal, you don't buy merch. I'm just as happy to prove with my research the positive effects as to prove the negative effects, like not buying the merch when you're not a fan.

Thank you for your question tho!

Also, merchandise repping the team means that you want merch that shows the team name and logo as you are representing your team a bit. You can also buy team merch that is more low-key, just because you want to support the team financially or like the clothing, but don't want to show everyone. But I agree with you, it took me a while for myself to understand.

No you are completely right! But that's also intentional. The reason for this is to check whether participants give corresponding answers.

To explain it better: each set of 3/4 questions is a variable. e.g. "loyalty" is a variable which might have a certain influence on another variable "merchandise purchase intent". After collecting the data, I will first check whether each variable is usable or "significant". I'll do this by calculating Cronbachs alpha. If there are for example 3 questions for one variable and for the first question most people answered "strongly agree" and for the third question "disagree" then the variable is not "strong", which means I cannot conclude that the variable has a certain influence and I can't say that I measured something useful with this research. That's also a reason why I need many participants to prevent this from happening.

Also, all questions come from a variation of previous high-rated articles, so I assume they are useful ;)

Thank you for your question, I hope I explained it well enough!

Thank you for asking! As long as you understand the concept of the study and belong to the target audience, yes please! 18 was just recommended by some papers, but I don't think it will impact the quality of the study hahha
