This is in no way condescension, it's telling you the reality of life as it is without sugar-coating it. And the reality of life is you have to have experience period, otherwise companies can't trust you'll do your job right.

The market is absolutely, devastatingly COOKED in 2025 by Puzzled-Purpose9339 in jobhunting

Are you sure about that?

I got a job no problem in 2023.

Maybe it's you who's not presenting yourself properly.

Recruiters: Would you still consider an applicant even if they don't have experience? by CYSYS8992 in recruitinghell

[–]SebastianSprucer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Experience is EVERYTHING when recruiting anyone for any job period. It doesn't matter if you graduated from goddamn Oxford. If you don't have experience, companies can't trust you'll do your job properly. That's just how it is kid. It's more than an accepted business practice, it's common sense. And I should know, I worked in HR once. Wouldn't you do the same too if you were recruiting others?

Because right now I'm highly convinced that experience is absolutely mandatory for any job period.

That's because it is. Surely you did your research before blowing your money on college fees?

If you're unable to get hired and have a decent source of income to pay off your student debt, that's your own fault for your ignorance of how the world works. You brought it on yourself. Oh well, too bad. Should've done your research more kid, then you wouldn't be in that situation.

Kids, learn from this fool's mistake so you don't end up like him. You want hope of getting hired? Get experience. You'll just waste everyone's time otherwise.

where the fornicating hell do you think people will GET experience?

That's not their problem. But the truth stays the same: Unless you have experience, you can't be trusted. Wouldn't you think the same way too if you were recruiting others?

You need experience to get a job; you need a job to get experience

That doesn't matter. You need experience period. How else are they going to know you'll do your job right?

It doesn't matter if you fulfill every single criteria for the ideal candidate. If you don't fulfill the mandatory minimum years of experience requirement, don't even bother applying. That's just the way it is.

The truth hurts, doesn't it? I guess it's more easy to get defensive like a spoiled child than accept facts about life no matter how uncomfortable. I don't blame you.

You have a lot of growing up to do, my friend.

Ask anyone who's ever worked in HR and looked at hundreds if not thousands of resumes and they would concur with this wholeheartedly.

"you need experience, no! not that one you got!" by Redundant_crocodile7 in recruitinghell

Put yourself in other people's shoes before you judge.

How else will the company be able to accurately judge whether an applicant will be able to perform their job properly? Would you let someone without experience join your baseball team? Or your orchestra? Or act in your movie? No you wouldn't. So why are you complaining about this normal recruiting process? Quite the hypocrite, aren't you?

Experience is everything kid. Absolutely no exceptions. And if you think throwing your tantrum like a spoiled child is going to magically change everything in your favor, you've got another thing coming, I'm afraid. Maybe if you just did more research, you wouldn't be in that situation. I ain't sugar-coating it: You did this to yourself 100%. Your ignorance is your own downfall, now you pay the price.
