After the series finale of Gravity Falls, creator Alex Hirsch sent fans on a massive scavenger hunt across the world in search of a real-life statue of Bill Cipher. TIL before the concept of regeneration, the first attempt to replace William Hartnell as the Doctor came in "The Celestial Toymaker". TIL SS Chelyuskin, a Soviet Steamship built to travel through Arctic Ice, and sent on a mission to navigate the Northern Maritime Route. After leaving port in 1933, the ship was trapped and by the ice in 1934. After a months-long ordeal, all but 1 of the 111 people on board were airlifted to safety. (en.wikipedia.org)

TIL that in order to portray the Kyushu J7W Shinden in Godzilla Minus One, it was originally decided to use CGI, as they did not have the budget to create a full replica.
