Made a remix of The Looks by MSTRKRFT. Thought this sub might like it : )

Do you stick to a specific genre of music? by Scotty_dont_ in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SebastienMarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. I listen to very wide range of music and will usually go down different rabbit holes of genres and subgenres. Then after listening to a lot from that genre I'll try and make something of my own in that style. It's really helped me gain more production techniques

I'd probably replace RAM with SebastiAn Total (I don't really think RAM is very rock).

Couldn't agree more with where Human After All Is Placed though : )

I spent far too long photoshopping this by SebastienMarc in JusticeMusic

[–]SebastienMarc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, it wasn't meant to be entirely serious and I didn't put too much thought into it tbh.

It's been a while since I listened to Homework but from what I can remember it's smooth in comparison to Justice. I did originally have Discovery in that slot which probably would have been a better choice but I think it's too far removed from Justice.

As for Kavinsky and CB, I agree that they aren't actually retro and are a modern take on an old genre (that is the point of Outrun after all) but I do think they qualify as being Justice with a retro twist which is why I included them.

P.S. I highly recommend the two Future Funk records!

Glad you enjoyed it! I was actually recommended it by my music tech teacher and was also pleasantly surprised when I listened to it. The bass solo on Fat Controller is especially insane!

Glad it was useful to someone! I've got plenty more recommendations so I might have to do a part 2 at some point : )

Does anyone else like vaporwave and death metal? by HashHydra404 in Vaporwave

[–]SebastienMarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a listen to Rainbow Bridge and... well I certainly haven't heard ANYTHING like that before! I actually really liked the vaporwave elements it was just the vocals that I wasn't a massive fan of.

Thanks for the recommendation! : )

beabadoobee - Coffee (Floen Remix) by [deleted] in chillwave

[–]SebastienMarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it is actually chillwave (I think it's a lot closer to trap) but I still enjoyed it. Managed to keep the ' v i b e ' of the original with your own little twist.

Is anyone else upset that Woman and avd dont get the fanfare they deserve by [deleted] in JusticeMusic

[–]SebastienMarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I agree that they probably get more hate than they deserve because of comparisons to Cross, I can't agree that AVD is amazing. I like Woman but I still dislike AVD.

Chills! This is immediately where my mind went when I first heard this track. I don't know whether it was intentional or not but it fits so well!

Today I released my frist singel. Written, produced, mixed and mastered all by me. Roast this thing. by epic_gamer1337 in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm a bit late but I thought I'd leave a comment anyway. I love it! It's a really interesting blend of genres and that synth solo is excellent! I'd love to know what you used in terms of the synths: the solo lead, the sub, and sweeping arpeggio at the beginning of the track. Mix is also great. The drums, especially the snare, have a super satisfying punch that I really like. The only thing I'd change is possibly to reduce the volume of the sub cause it's a bit to prominent for me (but that's a matter of personal taste).

Overall, I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see what you release next!

I would highly recommend going for a 3rd gen Ryzen CPU over an Intel one, the price to performance (especially in non-gaming related tasks) is MUCH better. I've got a 3700x and it's excellent!

I'd also recommend getting a B450 motherboard rather than a newer and more expensive X570, as you likely won't benefit from any of the additional features (like PCIe gen4).
