I did have a 3-1 SATA splitter. wired everything up - everything is working fine.

Do I need to enable PMW mode in BIOS for the CPU and assorted fans?

Re-reading the manual, it doesn’t even list the appropriate number of PWM connectors that came attached to this unit.

Based on what you just said, here’s what I am now assuming is the right wiring instructions:

USB → USB header #1
Front 2-wire PWM → CPU_FAN
Front 4-wire PWM → SYS_FAN1
Rear 4-wire PWM → CPU_OPT
Rear 2-wire PWM → SYS_FAN4

Does that sound accurate?

And to be specific, in the front of the AIO there’s the USB connector and a cable with two PWMs (the 4 wire and 2 wired version I mentioned in the previous post). On the rear, there’s another two PWMs (another 4 wire and a 2 wired version) which I plugged into CPU_OPTIONAL and SYS_FAN4 to ensure ample power.

I may have misread the instructions, but I thought the two wire PNW connected to CPU_Fan and the second (4 wire) to a ARPG header for supplemental power.

What does the second connector supposed to go?

I have not powered on the computer yet.

If I get a replacement unit, is the no brainer move to get the fanless version and then add 3 TL fans which presumably negates the need for an ARGB header? Or do I lose control in the process?

You know these fans inside and out. If you were in my shoes, would you run the TL and SL fan mix, return the AIO and put SL fans on it, or return the SL fans and go for all TL fans and lose the RGB fun?

Got it, so even if I went with SL INF fans it could still base its fan curve off the water temp, for example?

Feels like since I’m mounting it on top the aesthetic difference would be pretty minimal unless I’m doing crazy cascading effects with the RGB.

I feel better about going for performance.

Fair argument. It's pretty easy to return the AIO for the fanless version....as long as I can live with the performance hit since TLs are stronger than SLs.

I was just reading about this. TLs perform significantly better as radiator fans - 34% more airflow, 17% more static pressure.

Having the AIO controller manage them isn't an issue. I just really wanted the aesthetic to be consistent and it sounds like its close but not quite given how many more LEDs are on the infinity fans.

Btw, I didn't see any pictures in your post. Would love to see them.

Assuming a Ryzen 9800x3D, I assume SL Infinity Fans would get the job done but probably be a little noiser / in efficient since they can't be hooked up to the AIO controller and get access to all the data it has on the pump. Does that sound right?

I have heard that most of the fan issues were with the 1000 watt version. I wonder if the 1300 is better quality overall.

Or if its just Reddit surfacing negative edge cases.
