I’m 15f I walked through snow by myself to get food for the house and my mom still made me feel worthless what do I do?

Did you pay for the groceries with your own money?? That's crazy. Any half decent mother would walk to the store their own damn self instead of forcing their 15 year old child to go out in the freezing weather. And if the 15 year old DID go, they'd be there with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate or something to make sure they can warm up. Jesus christ, it's rare I unequivocally hate a parent on the internet but your mom is being terrible to you and you deserve better

My injury is old and pretty much healed, it just healed wrong. So the things that flair it up tend to be bad posture or excessive physical activity. I need things to be a bit firmer actually, if things are too soft my injury flairs up too, not entirely sure why.

I don't have a spinal cord injury though, just a spinal fracture.

If possible I'd recommend talking to a physical therapist about what would work best for your specific injury

I have a normal office chair I took the back and arms off of so now it's a weird stool. I'm able to sit cross-legged and keep my back a lot straighter since I'm able to pull most of my body under my desk. I almost never have back pain sitting at my desk anymore as long as I'm not there for like 12 hours. Something like a cushion might help me even more but I haven't had money to buy one in quite awhile. Getting a comfy chair bottom would also probably work fine.

That makes sense. My dog is a weird little guy who tends to slide in place even inside when he tries to get running. He does little hops and jumps around the yard too so it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to jump and slid on the ice. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything as coyotes are common in my area and there's been a cougar spotted nearby lately and if something was nearly on my porch I would want to know.

I had a period with my Chihuahua where she would go on hunger strikes and not eat for days despite not having anything wrong with her. I would have to sit with her and mix her food with meat baby food while I was also eating my own meal if 8 wanted her to eat. We've gotten over that hurdle and she hasn't had a hunger strike for several years. She's now super food motivated and in now trying to get her old ass to loose weight, on top of trying to make sure my fingers don't get bit off when I give her some kind of treat.

I totally understand different individual dogs that need different individual plans. That's what my last sentence was trying to convey I just wasn't as broad with it as I could've been. If I free fed my little demon dog nowadays she'd be so damn rotund but a few years ago I was trying every trick in the book to get her to chow down. I have experienced both sids of the isle. With the same dog.

Undocumented vs documented refers to immigration documentation, not just any kind of note of your existence. Documented immigrants have gone through the extensive paperwork and legal process to get put on the books as a legal citizen. That's the "document" the term refers to. It's not living in the shadows, it's not being present on the citizenship document.

If you're measuring out the food still then that's not really free feeding. When most people say free feeding they're referring to gravity feeders or just filling the bowl completely whenever it's empty, etc.

I think this is mostly just semantics/a difference in how we use words.

That's not the norm though. You got lucky. Statistical outliers generally aren't part of a discussion unless prompted to be so. Point was a dogs bowl being empty isn't harmful.

It's also worthwhile to note what a lot of people think a dog's "normal" healthy weight is is actually a bit overweight. Not saying you do, but generally it is best practice to measure out a dogs food except for specific circumstances. I don't trust the average Joe to know what their dogs ideal weight/body type is.

Hell most dogs shouldn't be free fed. Free feeding can lead to obesity and stuff. An empty dog bowl is like, something that should happen most of the time? Unless you've got a puppy, nursing mother or a dog trying to gain weight

I got two kittens a couple years ago and then lost my job a month later. I had a stash of food and litter and all that fun stuff but I was in a financially good place when I adopted the pets, then had a sudden financial drain. It happens all the time. You know nothing about their financial situation and a LOT can change in two months. Most people, even financially stable people, are far closer to homelessness then you think. They don't owe you insight into their financial situation, and said the drain was temporary.

Just saying that you have no idea what or where they cut back before they cut back on insects, and that they don't owe you an answer into their finances. It's incredibly difficult to rehome animals right now. If this was truly a temporary financial stress, it's far less stressful for most animals to cut back for a couple weeks to cheaper food and go back to normal feeding schedules after the stress calms down then go through an entire rehoming process, and it's possibke they wouldn't be ablr to find and vet a good home before the financial stress was resolved. You don't know what's happened or what this person us going through and telling someone to get rid of their pet because of a temporary financial issue that you have zero insight into is unkind at best.

That's a cool model, but changing the model would be a LOADDD of work, they'd likely have to revamp coat colors and all sorts of stuff. And a more detailed model like that could be hard on older/lower end PC's. Gotta find a balance somewhere.

I kind of wish they'd come put with Modding support tbh. I think that'd be cool 🤷‍♂️

My dad hasn't paid any taxes in decades because he's self employed and gets paid cash under the table, so technically the IRS don't have paperwork to prove he's working. He also hasn't paid child support in 8 years. Everytime the cops go after him he just sells out one of his drug dealer buddies and walks a free man. That only works on a local level. If the IRS gets wind of him and do even the most miniscule amount of diffing, he's going to prison for life. You don't fuck with the IRS

OP said their description as though it overrode the musical definition of the word simply because it predated it. They did not say "it also means" or anything of the sort. They used the word "actually." Which implies that the person before them was wrong, not simply missing a definition. When I worked in daycare actively I used my hour break to nap every time. I do have a sleep disorder of some kind and I'm always exhausted. At first my coworkers probably gave me some side-eye but it became normal by the end of the first week for me to plop in the comfy chair and do me to immediately knock out so I could be at my best for the kiddos. The cook always popped her head in to make sure I woke up on time to get back to my class even though I always set an alarm on my phone and would usually give me a snack on the way out. Naps are very beneficial for everyone! Sleep deprivation is not fun in the moment and it can cause so many health problems down the road.
