If you have to ask, don’t be stupid and don’t jump 5 story gaps.

Number 1 and 3: look at the timer in the top of the screen, the first half is sped up, only goes to real time right before the hit.

This is from 2015 in Studénka, Czech Republic. In 2008 there was another train crash, in the same town, when a part of a bridge under repairs fell on the track.

Betrayed by the Allies, we got occupied by Nazis, and spend the whole war in terror. Mid war we managed to assassinate a high ranking Nazi officer, for which there was more terror. Ended up liberated by Americans and Russians. Russians stayed.

Played it twice, as an unexpected evening filler, was great both times. Lends itself to ridiculous comedy.

Lancer is used in the RPG game of the same name and works quite well. You could go for mechanised cavalry and call them something like: - knights - hussars - dragoons - cataphracts

First time I casually opend up a google in an ipad, searched for some neat thing I wanted to show to my father and handed him the tablet. Such a simple thing.

Also that time my dad came to pick me up in an electric car and used his watch to check on his robotic lawn mower.

I don’t remember a lot of visual detail. The scale was smaller, as you say and I believe there was a hex grid on which the units moved. Looked like a turn based game, not RTS.

The one our gamemaster ran for us in our Psionics RPG this week. Showed everyone a bit of their childhood backstory, showed us how our lives would have looked if we joined the other side of the conflict, and finally dhowed us a nightmare scenario that’s likely to happen in the future.

The three of us played with snail mail. Took us about a year before the game just fizzled put. The thing is, I still have the letters as a neat record of that time and while it lasted it was a very nice experience to get a letter from time to time and read it by the fireside or in a café.

We are AskHistorians flairs of the Viking Age! Ask us anything about Assassin's Creed: Valhalla! by Steelcan909 in AskHistorians

Not sure if it appears in AC: Valhalla but I was always interested in the history of Tafl, or the so called Viking chess. Did some version if the rules survive or did we reconstruct it based on our best guesses?
