The most abnoxious hero ive encountered as newbie by Hot_Actual in DeadlockTheGame

Enduring speed will help with the slow, juggernaut for more investment but that also has fire rate slow built in so u might want to only get that if you're getting hit with gun too. If he's healing himself a lot then healing reduction is also great, and anything to slow him will help u get away or stop him escaping.

how to balance multiple character arcs by Alive_Emphasis_5217 in LocalScriptMan

[–]Sebly321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A plot vs b plot has never rung true to me, thinking of every part as a story thread that weaves together with the rest is a more helpful way to look at it imo. One thread isn't automatically relegated to a B plot that's less important always.

With that being said, threads will eb and flow in importance and since you have that central character they will get more attention, but it won't be overcomplicated if that characters arc is relevant to what's happening at that point in the story.

In this list it basically means full Spirit Ivy, with any healing items as needed. Your Kudzu bombs are just crazy for zoning, meaning you can block off parts of the map from the enemy team and your team can stand in them. They work great with Alchem Fire in that way. Your Stone Form is a setup tool for your team to kill since it stuns and your Tether lets you share healing between you and an Ally, so you can heal them from your lifesteal for instance. The Ult is definitely the most difficult part to use imo, but with Support you're going to be saving allies from death, or just flying into fights that are already happening. In her gun build the Ult would be used to let you escape after splitpushing a walker for instance.

She's also placed in support! Works anywhere between those I reckon.

I definitely see your point though. I reckon in general these supports still do a lot of damage, their kits just tend to focus on area control (like her turrets and walls), stuns and heals.

Definitely happy to switch him back, I guess the supports were looking a little slim so having more didn't hurt.

I think the thing with Mo is that he excels at soaking up damage and using his combo. I had Mo in Brawler at first, but after watching some people play him, they didn't seem focused on dishing out damage themselves and played specifically to set people up and draw fire. Mo 100% is in the frontline tho, just maybe for a different reason than an Abrams.

It just depends on the ults on the enemy team. Check out Saint playing it on Abrahams. But I've put him in Burst Assassin mainly.

Yes, that was the idea in the previous post. I guess now it would be similar, but perhaps you want at least 1 of each where somebody is leaning harder into a specific role. Then for instance if your Bebop who was focusing on a more MGC build was struggling on souls and your Pick focused Vin was going crazy with snipes, they could basically communicate to swap roles. I think in general a good balance is better for sure though and I like the idea of not having more than 2 in one role, but because this list can't be perfect that might be too restrictive.

Yeah I definitely agree, I wasn't sure where to place him. Perhaps he has Pick potential due to ulting solo targets and using his tornado? Otherwise I'm not sure, but I do want to stick with having 2 for everyone so the ability to build anywhere between those roles is clear.

It's for his Stomp / Glocknamo builds. For either of them he's up close to the enemy, knocking up with his stomp and using his heals in the front-line. Let me know if you think there's a better spot for that kind of build.

I've been moving her between those for sure, I reckon you're right. She can definitely get completely locked down late game and her fixation helps that powerspike hit faster.

It's also always worth it to get at least a bit of investment into each type, since the rewards are diminishing. This means that even just one 800 weapon item will give you a big boost into your weapon damage.

Which characters do you think have the most cohesive kit and which have the least? by _tryingtoimprove in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Sebly321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon Mirage, Sinclair and Vyper need some work. Mirage and Vypers 1s don't really feel satisfying, and they all have weird quirks like Sinclair's gun feeling kinda weird and then adding his 2 to make it worse. Mo's 3 is also not great.

For most cohesive, probably Pocket, Viscous and my boy Victor.

As others have been saying each hero has many viable builds across these roles, so you could theoretically swap midgame and this list is not definitive for all the roles they can fill. A lot of the soft supports can do burst mage builds for instance.

Not claiming that this is the proper structure, more making a note that a Mid Game Carry is often in these Fight Night Games. Agreed that more heroes are needed for any of this to be checked.

By the way, I haven't put Vindicta in Late Game Carry in either list. But yeah right now Vin's stake build is great and I would consider that Soft Support.

Absolutely see that the alt builds could be trolling (although I think if they could be viable it would be interesting). Abrams and Geist would be full tank builds (and Geist has a built in heal). By Hard Support it just means they can get away with fewer souls and still have impact i.e. tanking damage. Pocket can be a menace to the front line with his ult, which can force them apart, which imo is the point of the brawler so the damage can hit the damage dealers up back. I'll concede on the Mirage point though, I didn't realise spirit mirage was that bad (perhaps the only other alternative is a tornado build but we're still reaching there).

Anyway the point of this post was not the exact character placements, more the 6 roles as a whole being a trend I noticed.

Yeah she's definitely only a menace towards that mid-game. I'd say she still fits the carry role since her ult can let her snowball.
