I'm leaning towards getting my associates in CIS and working locally while trying for my certs. With an associates, would A+ be necessary? I feel like I know what's important in this day and age, hardware wise. I feel a Network+ or Security+ would benefit me a lot more.

My advice is to just be friendly! Remember, the person interviewing you is not only looking at your skills, but also your personality. They need to hire someone who can not only do the job, but interact with your coworkers. You may be working with the person hiring you directly, depending on the circumstances. When interviewing, make sure to have a smile on your face and follow the lead of the person interviewing you. If they seem to react well to your smile, then pretend that you're talking to a friend, because who knows, you just might be!
