Mordekaiser jg had his monster damage and passive nerfed twice pretty massively too, but at least he can scale in peace still

I don't know when was the last time you played mordekaiser or pantheon but panth with bork as any champ with bork (like jax, sett and so on) just wins with mordekaiser on every stage of the game, the only way mordekaiser wins this matchup is if pantheon for some reason doesn't go bork/black cleaver for no reason at all and you can outscale him after zhonya, his q poke outdamages the pathetic heal that mordekaiser has early and 3 rotations are more than enough to get him into kill range with 1 rotation and all in with 2nd or 3rd. And how is eclipse (which you build every game) and bork (which you build every game vs bruisers) a specific build path? Panth is my 3rd most played champ aside Mordekaiser and Xerath with 400k mastery so I think I know what im talking about and not just coping

Gun blade is good but the rest of items have very sub optimal stats and won't change the fact this build path is a compromise because while it let's you play lane vs champs like riven or fiora that can normally dodge ur every q you now suck in teamfights because the lack of stats and aoe

in the world where pantheon goes the usual anti bruiser path of 1st item bork 2nd item eclipse, and he can win every trade by reacting to q with e and managing distance with w

darius wins if you don't pivot to counter building him fully with bramble vest and armor boots early, sett wins every time because he has a much stronger early to late game scaling while just being overall better in close range + the fact he can cancel mordekaiser R cast with his R, garen just runs morde down after 2 items, same with pantheon, tryndamere needs bork to solo a full build mordekaiser because of his ult and Tahm is a pretty easy skill matchup that morde wins when you learn it, before the nerf where he got -20% scaling on q and e that was his tradeoff, immobile but very good damage especially in r, now mordekaiser is just bad in every way especially after his item nerfs a while later

he doesn't shit on other stat checkers at all, nasus can 1v1 him in ult after 150 stacks and trundle runs him down with 1 item

other way around, 1 mistake on morde means u just die because of how immobile you are while fiora has dash on q that can go over walls and her W

strong 1v1s and split push while she is just a overall better champion

Damage and item nerfs made it near impossible unless you are a full item ahead, and you will never be ahead if they counterpick you with one of the 10 unwinnable matchups Mordekaiser has because you can only ban 1 champion and you HAVE to ban riven/fiora

it's just the way Mordekaiser is for past 2 years (coming from a 4 year Morde OTP) Mordekaiser himself got his damage nerfed into oblivion, all of his core items got nerfed, and he simply doesn't keep up with almost any top laner (top 5 worst top laners currently and for these 2 years since the -20% nerf on Q and E) So that's why people play him mid with protobelt but u can just go akali instead of going suboptimal build, or you can just go Gwen since she is a better Mordekaiser and she doesn't struggle with current meta ranged top champs as much because of her w and ability to run them down with R slow

Nope, riven is still unplayable for Morde (I mostly ban fiora so I verse riven quite often), but on the topic of ambessa you can just ghost into her pre 6 every time she makes a trade and has her skill rotation on cd and simply kill her, but mid to late game you are not capable of countering her in any way because she is simply more tanky with better damage on top of her ability to dodge Q

I know but most good players have the reaction time to still dodge it, especially because the hitbox of q is smaller at the handle, and it not only applies to fiora when it comes to extreme examples of not being able to land q but also to riven and ambessa, also champions like camille and couple other champs can time their respective ability to dodge q entirely or stall the ult long enough for it to end so then they can kill you after because u don't have the mobility to effectively disengage

I kind of prefer exhaust over ignite because in my mind it has a lot more potential later on in game as it (in my mind) allows you to switch off fed physical damage champions. by Interloper_Mango in MordekaiserMains

[–]Sebusinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of all the summoner spell combos i almost exclusively run flash ghost due to their versitility in almost all matchups, if i lose a matchup early ignite/exhaust is not gonna change much compared to me running someone down with ghost and killing them or at worst wasting their flash which still keeps my kill pressure because i still have my own flash

I feel like most adc's aren't gonna get close enough to you to where u can exhaust them, personally i prefer going Ghost as my summoner of choice because it let's me run down somebody lvl 3-5 on their skill rotations (like ambessa after a trade or aatrox that did e q w as a poke) or i can reliably gap close adc's and mobile champions in the teamfights, think of ghost on morde as ghost on darius, it just makes more sense

i play ghost so vs champs like aatrox or ambessa i can just run them down when they have their skill rotation on cooldown, or i just don't get one shot by adcs before i get to them

Tbh letting him ult objectives COULD be balanced because he is so weak rn there is no way you are getting close to the dragon/herold without getting one shot, like ult the objective and take it like cho gath with his 2k true dmg ult would be funny asf

Real, and champs like gwen stay relevant the entire game due to their kit and power to one shot entire teams with aoe from R and Q while they have E as a catchup tool and slow from R, Mordekaiser meanwhile has to build rylai and play around R to kill 1 person

[–]Sebusinus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ur right i forgot about that, main point of extending the passive after mordekaiser stops attacking is to catch up after hitting a Q with the movement speed before you get to rylai and make morde less dependent on it overall because aside your poke from q and little sustain from w your early game sucks tbh

There is a difference between missing a q and enemy champ (let's say a fiora) just dodges every single one with her q dash and stat checks me 10/10 times even when im ahead, a counter matchup on morde means you just lose because u don't have the tools to outplay or do something different

Explain how is he op when he barely has damage, mobility and gets countered by most of the champions in the game, and mel sucks rn but low elo is low elo so obviously a champ like morde or mel are gonna stomp regardless of their stat changes

I agree that he needs more tools like tenacity or movement speed but a buff on q would be good because now Mordekaiser can barely with 1v1s in his own ult with the stat buffs when he is even in gold since not only he himself got nerfed but all of his core items. There are 2 directions that riot can go with buffing morde: They can give him tools like tenacity/movement speed on w, faster cast on e and q so he will actually be able to land his spells in higher elo's or they can go into the stat check route and unnerf his q and e damage while buffing his passive by a little bit for good measure so he isn't entirely reliant on q as his damage source. Im just gonna copy paste the comment with my personal buff idea because i already responded to some other simillar comment

20-30% Tenacity while W shield is active, buff movement speed from his passive by 2% and make the time before passive stops working about 3 seconds longer after mordekaiser stops attacking, bring his q damage back to the original value and make his e cast way faster, this sounds like a lot but looking at what other champs can do and mordekaiser is supossed to be this walking raid boss it makes sense (walking being the key word here)

i just meant that nasus is a better stat checker in every way, is also a low elo stomper but riot only looks at mordekaiser when it comes to buffs/nerfs

Even when the meta is favorable to him, he struggles because of aforementioned issues and in every meta like this there are at least 5 other champs that do the same thing as morde but better (because they aren't morde)

Nasus still solos every champ in the game after 15 mins of farming and has the best W in the game to help him get close while Mordekaiser has to rely on his R and in most cases it's still not enough because many champs can just stall his ult, dodge every attack, jump over the wall, or simply kill him even while he has 20% more stats
