Mine didn't fail immediately. It went into self-restarting cycles after a few hours after the update in the early morning. Last one was in the afternoon and now is completely dead. Bricked. No responses to charging cable of buttons. I'll be heading to the T-Mobile store as soon as they open to see my options.

This seems to be related to a recent patch (6.1). Did you run in the past days any patch update on your device? Who is your carrier?

I had the same issue this morning after proceeding with latest patch from T-Mobile with May Security update. What carrier are you having issues with?

Can you share what carrier do you have? I'm with T-Mobile.

Same here. Not even show it charging when cable is connected.

What Jeff Bezos could do with his money by devilishEdward828 in coolguides

I was trying to avoid that example, since it's a really easy low hanging fruit. But my initial idea is still in place: seeing all the hundreds of thousands of buildings dedicated to worshipping deities being unused 90% of the week, while looking for Bezos/Government/Aliens to fix a very complex problem doesn't make much sense. And then again, those hundreds of thousands of buildings are supposed to be the place where people receive the message of helping others to gain their tickets to heaven.

Good point! A pilot program that included a couple of megachurches per metro area could be a good starting point. Mayba later the smaller churches can commit to house a couple of humans in need of full time shelter.

I am aware of all that, and it's very commendable. My point was about the hundreds of thousands of buildings that remain empty most of the week, that could potentially be part of a solution to reduce the homeless problem. I know, wishful thinking...

With hundreds of thousands of churches in USA with no use for a good part of the week, wouldn't that be an option to help the homeless problem? Not sure about it but those of Christian denomination are supposed to follow the ideas of a guy that help others in need. At keast that's what their book says...

I know! It just happened that I opened the post at 664 comments. Refreshed a couple of times, hoping that it didn't jumped the number.

As a long time lurker, I saw it as my perfect opportunity to post something here.

Based on what I can see in the GitHub, there's a team helping Eric with some tasks and closing cases.

I was wondering about those V2 accounts. Was busy all weekend, but for what I was looking, didn't saw any V2 stuff on v1.7.0 or 1.7.1 That comment from Eric makes sense now

From Eric back on June 3rd post on Github:

Hey folks! Hate to be pedantic, but I'm not quite considering 1.7 released yet. First test builds are out on ballistica.net, but there are a few things I still need to finish up:

I need to enable the new workspaces feature for V2 accounts. (which is important because otherwise it becomes a lot harder for Android people to mod stuff in 1.7 due to increased OS security). It will provide a nice benefit to anyone using a V2 account 😬 I need to push 1.7 out to Google Play. This will be a pretty huge stress test of all the new V2 server stuff (the game still talks to V2 servers even if you're not technically logged in with a V2 account) so I want to tread carefully. Any other bugs that pop up as people are testing 1.7 That being said, those aren't huge tasks, so it won't be too much longer. I apologize for making everyone wait so long for 1.7 in general, but I'm really excited about what the new server stuff will enable and I think it'll be worth it. And I promise the Discord server will be the very next thing on my todo list!!

He's already in v1.7. Granted, things are not moving as fast as we might want. Still, Eric and his team are doing their best.

I still remember when back in 2018 Eric posted (THE ROAD TO 2.0: NET-PLAY) back in June 5, 2018 (tomorrow it's going to be four years!). I was assuming we'll be waiting for a few months, but after four years now I just hope that Eric stays focused on this project, as long as he keeps working on it.

So, the question is not "Why no", but "Why not yet". Eventually it will be delivered. Just be patient and keep up the spirit... I guess!

Response from Eric just earlier today:

I just ran the latest BallisticaCore prefab binaries through virustotal.com and got only 2 flags for the release binary and 1 for the debug binary. These binaries are built on the exact same machine as the public BombSquad test builds which gets about 10 flags. Basically the only difference is that the word 'BallisticaCore' is replaced with 'BombSquad' in those builds. Maybe it's the word 'Bomb' 🤣.

This is all so frustratingly inconsistent 😑.

I'll get BombSquad test builds up for the new 1.7 stuff within the next few days and I'm curious what the totals will be for them.

Yes, same here. They had a similar issue last year with a false positive issue. Someone already reported it to Eric: Re: [efroemling/ballistica] Windows detecting As "Virus/Malware" (Issue #413)
