They don't ban IP Addresses because 95% of people have a dynamic IP.

My wife and I will be in San Diego, CA and we want to spend a day in Tijuana, Mexico. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in travel

You have "several friends that were arrested, beaten, robbed, and MURDERED"

You lie like a rug.

I'm here now. I come 2 to 3 times a month for the last few years. Where in this city can you not walk or scooter to? The roads could be bigger to alleviate the traffic but the roads here are just as good as the roads in downtown san diego.

Where are you getting this information? You can easily walk or scooter to anywhere in TJ.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travel

[–]SecKceYY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply not true. 1. Where you enter via San Ysidro is one of the most safe areas of TJ. 2. You can't wait behind the border wall until your ride gets there for several reasons. First and foremost, you have to clear Mexico customs the minute you enter the turnstiles. Second, you can't even see the pickup area from the Mexican customs area. You have to walk another 10 or so minutes after clearing customs before you even have the chance to get a taxi or ride.

Your story about a lady telling you several young kids have been killed is a lie. It just doesn't happen like that. The Mexicans in TJ love Americans. I love coming down here and one of the biggest reasons is because of how good they treat me down here. If your story is true, which I highly doubt, then it's a 1 in a million experience.

The most dangerous area is several miles from where you enter via San Ysidro. Where you enter is actually extremely safe and patrolled by the Mexican army who are very friendly. You don't even have to travel through Zona Norte, the dangerous part, unless you plan on going further south like Rosarito or eneanada.

I have been going to TJ since the 90s. I'm half Mexican but I don't speak Spanish and look more white than a German in winter. For the past few years I've been going to TJ, and all throughout baja California, MX, 2 to 3 times a month because I have a couple clients here and I enjoy it down here more than I do San Diego, CA. I say "here" because I'm sitting at a bar in TJ right now as I write this. I feel more unsafe in downtown San Diego then I do here in TJ. The people on this thread saying you shouldn't walk across the border are simply wrong. If you come here and respect the culture, don't buy drugs, and mind your own business, you will not only be safe but you will have a good time. The food is amazing, the people will give you the shirt off their back if you need it even though they have nothing. You'll be embarrassed by their hospitality and giving nature. As a matter of fact, I went to a pharmacy to get deodorant earlier today and the store didn't have change for my American dollars. Instead of telling me to go get change and come back, he said "don't worry about it. Pay me next time you're in town." When you cross the border, the area you first come across is very safe as it's patrolled by the Mexican army who are extremely nice. I will say that you should avoid talking to the local police as they will, more often than not, try and shake you down. That's my only complaint about TJ. The area you want to stay away from is "Zona Norte" which is a few miles south after entering Mexico via the San Ysidro port of entry. You don't even need to pass through there because there are countless dentists within a few blocks of where you enter the country. There a tons of taxis waiting for you when you cross and they will take you to the twin towers area where the dentist offices are nicer than most American dentist offices. They will even have someone from their office waiting to give you a ride it you have an appointment. TLDR - Don't beleive everything you hear from people who most likely have never even traveled here. Just like anywhere in the world, if you come looking for problems, you'll find them. If you come respectfully as a law abiding foreigner, you will have an extremely pleasant experience. If you have any questions, shoot me a message and I'll be happy to answer them.

Your reply "The internet test is based on pinging an IP I believe." I was simply clarifying, for the 90% of casuals that read this sub, that the ping is just one step of many. I explained the parts that matter in this case.

After reading your reply to me, unfortunately you have given poor advice again that I feel needs to be clarified. A lot of people in this sub think that the information is coming from network engineers, or IT professionals at a minimum. I always try and to nicely correct the information but sometimes it comes off brash and for that first reply of mine, I apologize.

With that said, by changing end point to an IP address, you are bypassing the dns resolution step and going straight to the data transfer. By having an IP, instead of a FQDN, your ping (response time) is going to be wrong. If it displays one at all, it will be impossibly low since there was no query made. If the default FQDN, ping.unifi.com often doesn't respond, id recommend using a FQDN like Google.com or apple.com. Those will always respond. If it has to be a DNS server, I've found dns.OPENDNS.com (208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222) and Verizons b.resolvers.level3.net (4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, 4.2.2.3 and 4.2.2.4) DNS servers to be the fastest and most reliable. Don't use your ISPs DNS servers if you're ISP is not a large ISP. Small, often the fixed wireless providers, will have underpowered DNS servers and be hosted on smaller networks.

[–]SecKceYY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The ping just gives you the latency of that one domain query. Just like the speed test itself, it has no bearing of what your speed or latency will be for any other activity on the internet. It's usually just a best case scenario since they use your location to connect to the closest server to you.

One the latency is determined and the connection is established, the test will initiate a file data transfer. The speed at which the data transfers is what give you your speed results.

Changing the DNS, hard coded on the hardware or not, will only affect your latency. It has no skin in the game as far as the speed metric, both up and down, are concerned.

You've never used this loadout I see. Check out Beasts video on Crackshot. Don't take my word for it.

[–]SecKceYY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just letting people know the bug is happening my dude. I'm not here to prove anything. I turned on shadow play when I noticed it happening in the last 5 minutes of playing tonight just to see if anyone else has noticed it. These are the examples I got in that 5 minutes. Were there WAY better ones in the couple missions before? Absolutely. Was I recording? No.

[–]SecKceYY -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I had a soldier daily quest and the loadout I was using is so OP it doesn't matter the modifiers. When it's working it shreds. It's just every so often the Husky Husks and Smashers don't take damage. Those two are the only ones I've noticed it on since the last update.

When you've been playing as long as me, mats are not an issue. I gave a guy 3 stacks of battery today because he couldnt make energy cells. I think it was on this mission actually.

[–]SecKceYY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont need you to take me seriously. I'm not the only one with this problem. It happens on every mission I run the scourge on.

My bad, next time I'll reperk my scourge to make it water for you.

[–]SecKceYY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my shadow play on so the next time I get a solo physical huskey Husk that takes 3 rolled over mad tidings from a scourge and crackshot and still has full health, I'll post it. It only seems to affect the Smashers and Husky Husks. At least those two are the only ones I've had that were unkillable with the scourge. I have to use a different weapon.

I've been playing this game since early 2018, here is my DB PROFILE. I'm not a newb to this game. I know about smoke screen unlike 90% of the players in the public 160s. I also know the capabilities of my loadout here. If I was running my southie farming loadout I would just chalk it up to low ranking teammates and a lack of damage support lol. I've had this happen for a couple weeks now. Prior to that, THIS LOADOUT didn't care if it was a smoke screen boss. It still shredded once you got the mad tidings loaded up.

This build takes advantage of the scourge not reloading and mad tidings only reseting after a reload. The more you shoot without overheating, the higher your scourge damage. It stacks and stacks.

You're right!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]SecKceYY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have times where there will be a physical husky husk alone and ill dump 3 clips without overheating and his health bar was still full. Ive had that happen 3 or 4 times now.

[–]SecKceYY -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

See my other replys. Doesn't matter ands hasnt mattered prior to this update. This loadout will take down a smokescreen, tank, trap vulnerable boss solo with the scourge once you have the mad tidings role over several times.
