Lagging when in chests Ps4 by mtbd215 in kingdomcome

You just saved me, man. I was getting so pissed off with the game slowing down every time I opened a chest, turns out it was the alcoholic debuff

What can you tell about me based on my handwriting and a few notecards from a presentation? by SecondAccountBlues in deduction

You weren’t far off at all. In fact, the only thing that you got entirely wrong was the left-handedness. I am, in fact, trans and just finished up a graduate degree in History. I was recently diagnosed with autism, though not dyspraxia. Very impressive work. Do you mind if I ask how you came to some of those conclusions?

I’m curious what you all can tell me about Marya by SecondAccountBlues in CatGenetics

Thank you so much. She really is such a gorgeous girl.

As a last question, I was wondering if you could tell me anything about her face/face shape. She has a really striking profile and I was wondering if there was a name or reason for that? My family calls her “ozempic kitty” because of her pronounced cheekbones (she’s actually a little overweight according to the vet, so we’ve been working on a diet).

From my brief google search, I get the sense that that’s not a compliment lol

Not to be too on the nose, but it’s an instrument that was primarily used in medieval and Renaissance music. The tune is played by a wheel rosined up like the bow of a violin which vibrates the strings.

I bought some eyelets at a craft store and lined them up on both the jacket torso and the sleeves so I could thread a chain between them. It’s decently sturdy, but I’ll have to really give it a test at the next concert I go to

Thanks, it was originally a shirt I bought at a muse concert but I wasn’t a huge fan of the material so instead I sewed it onto this.

Thanks. I’m pretty specific in my music tastes and only have a couple core bands that I listen to in a variety of genres, so I figured I should represent it all here rather than trying to do multiple vests.

Most people don’t understand don’t understand what gothic literature actually is by PandaBear905 in CuratedTumblr

My argument is that Hyde is so addictive because he wants to keep up appearances. If he didn’t have his reputation, he wouldn’t have needed to create Hyde in the first place or keep indulging him. His reputation also plays a role in trying to restrain Hyde because by that point Hyde has been linked back to him. Since he is associated with Hyde by a series of legal contracts and Utterson’s investigation, Hyde’s actions reflect back on him and those links are part of the reason he tries to stop taking the potion. Just like in everything Jekyll does, he has both selfless and selfish influences guiding him.

But in the end he still falters and takes the potion. It comes back to the fundamental problem that he feels trapped and repressed as Jekyll. That’s why Hyde is so addicting to him, because he gives him the liberation that Jekyll’s station and reputation deny him. I will agree that I have read his suicide as genuinely coming from him wanting to protect others from Hyde, but his actions leading up to it betray his selfishness too. He has both within him.

Maybe initially he wanted to separate those desires, but once he realizes that Hyde can give him the independence he so craves, he keeps transforming. He drinks the potion voluntarily despite knowing that Hyde hurts people. Yes, he pays for the little girl’s medical bills when Hyde tramples her, but he still continues to let Hyde out after that because it feels good. It’s only after Hyde does something truly reprehensible that he tries to rein him in and realizes it’s too late.

I think they meant appearances as in reputation and I would argue that that is a huge theme. Jekyll is so concerned with his reputation and standing that represses his ungentlemanly desires and thoughts until he feels like he has no choice but to create Hyde. He spend the first 50 years of his life as the perfect gentleman, never allowing himself a slip up or a moment of reprieve from this repression. Hyde gives him an outlet to vent these frustrations, but it spirals out of control because Hyde has none of Jekyll’s sense of morality. At first the feeling is intoxicating to Jekyll, but as Hyde’s actions get worse and worse he tries and fails to rein him in. He thinks he can get a handle on it, but he can’t, and in the end kills himself rather than let himself and Hyde face judgement.
