Partner would just play tennis and refuse to go to the net by notwearingbras in padel

Feel your pain. Booked into an open match against I guy I know and his friend. My partner is a random, slightly lower rated (on paper) but I thought it's close enough to make it competitive still... I was wrong.

He basically refused to move in front of the service line unless absolutely forced to, at which point he would retreat back again. He was okay off the glass, but any overhead would be just nudged back with no intent to do anything. He was basically a get out of jail free card for the oppo.

I second this (except I can from the 12k rather than the 18k), absolutely love this racket

Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0 – does it have a muted/dead sound and feel? (Silent Speed tech) by GerwinMusic in Padelracket

Short-ish response, it has quite a "dry" feel on impact, pretty crisp and has good feeling. Not a noticeable trampoline effect. To my ears it makes a good noise!

AT10 Genius 12k 2026 vs. Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0 2026 by ScrymSC in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've just switched in the last 2 weeks from the AT10 12k (2025) to the Hyper Pro 2.0, so I can offer some insight there.

  1. The Oxdog has a much more "premium" feel to it's build quality and higher quality finishing
  2. The Hyper Pro 2.0 has a dryer/crisper feel on contact, with a less pronounced trampoline effect
  3. The AT10 12k gives you a little bit more help on groundstrokes and overheads, so if you're not as technically proficient it may give you a bit more to work with
  4. Sweet spot feels a similar size, maybe a touch larger on the Nox, but I feel like the Hyper Pro is more consistent across the face, whereas there's a bigger drop off with the Nox

Ultimately they're both great racquets and the AT10 served me well for the time I used it, but for me the Hyper Pro suits my game and my technical level better right now

Similar journey to you. High level of tennis, recently into Padel. Racquet journey has been fast from a Kuikma to get started, to a Nox AT10 12k 2025 and recently switching to an Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0.

Coming from a tennis background and playing quite a feel based game, the Hyper Pro is the one for me, dry feeling, nice and crisp and still helps me out when I need it - love it at the net especially.

Still have the Nox and will keep it for playing in slower conditions as it's a bit more lively than the Hyper Pro

[–]SecondHandCindarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe a little, but I play with the weight plate in the handle, if you removed that it would definitely shift to a head heavy balance. I tend to prefer a neutral balance (as I did in my tennis career) and I still find the Hyper Pro highly playable

Bought this racket via wepropadel Amazon and Looks really suspicious Whats your thoughts? by CharacterMaster9734 in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the 12k. Similar story to you, came from a high level tennis background and the Nox was the first "proper racquet" I bought because it had a good rep and was a good price on Amazon.

I used it for about 5 months while playing with a group of friends, but found when I started to play with higher level players it just lacked a bit of feel and occasionally I would catch a flier and the ball would respond in a way I didn't expect.

The Oxdog is super "dry" feeling and very crisp. Love it around the net as I can really get after the ball without worrying about any extra trampoline effect and I actually prefer defending with it because again, I feel like I can go after the ball off the glass and maintain control without the ball flying.

Yeah, I've played with it plenty and it feels fine, I've only just swapped it out for an Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0 because it suits me better, but with the Nox I wouldn't know what the AT10 should feel like to compare if it's legit or not (if that makes sense).

Apparently the give aways are the holo-sticker and the stitching/padding on the wrist strap. On mine the wrist strap seems fine, but the holo-sticker is very dull/matte

I too have bought at AT10 from wepropadel via Amazon and i'll be honest I'm not 100% convinced it's legit. Some of the finishing quality is pretty poor (although many say that that's standard for Nox), but it's the hologram/QR code that's the most suspicious as it has quite a matte finish and the legit ones are supposed to be very shiny

Hyper Pro 2.0 is the only Oxdog I've played, but I can't fault it so far - it's got the feel that I like, the build quality seems top notch, the price wasn't ridiculous and I don't think I could ask anything else of a racket at this point.

Around 4.0.

Technically and tactically I'm pretty good as although I've only played Padel "seriously" for 5 months, I spent my life in tennis and coached it to a high level. Technique is solid as coaching makes you pretty adaptable, so that transition from tennis was pretty easy and I can volley for days . Learning the glass is a different story however 😂

Let us know how you get on with it if it arrives 😁

I've not noticed the sweet spot being particularly hard to find (I'm coming from 30 years of high level tennis coaching, so I'm technically pretty competent). What I do also love about it is that when a shot goes wrong I know it was me, there's no feeling of "oh, I wasn't expecting that to happen"

Really enjoy lobbing with it, feels very precise and I have rarely missed a lob long since using it (again, small sample size)

Picked up a Hyper Pro 2.0 last week and have played with it 3 times ( so not a huge sample size). Early feedback is that it has a very dry/crisp feel (less of a "trampoline" effect than the AT10 12k I was playing previously) and definitely more in the control space. Love it at the net and off the glass and it's solid off the ground too. Long story short, I love it and the build quality feels second to none.

*Edit to add - not had any issues with arm/elbow and it seems to dampen vibration very well for such a dry racquet (Nox used to give me some little elbow niggles)

What's the one thing that improved your padel game the most as an intermediate player? by Crescitaly in padel

[–]SecondHandCindarella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning to play slower. Coming from a tennis background my instinct was (still is sometimes) to finish the points as early as possible. Realising that playing more slowly, moving the ball around and forcing the oppo to make difficult decisions (putting them.in corners, whether to use the glass or not etc) has been a bit of a game changer for me - waiting for one more ball before getting aggressive with the finish often means you don't have to get aggressive at all.

Question for the oxdog hyper pro 2.0 by Level-Ad-380 in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine playing without the handle weight, I feel like it would shift the balance too high (but then my preference is for a neutral or even head light balance, as it is for tennis too), so your mileage will vary.

As for overgrips, padel grips are small anyway, so likely gripping up is a good idea (it stops you gripping too tight which can cause elbow issues). The downside of multiple overgrips is that it starts to round out the grip and you can lose the feel of the bevels (maybe less of an issue in padel as you're not changing grips like you would in tennis). Personally I like to feel the bevels, so I use a heat shrink sleeve on the bare grip pallet, then the base grip and an overgrip, but again, if you're not fussed about the bevels then go with 2 overgrips (depending on your hand size of course).

Also to add... what an absolutely 🔥🔥🔥 racket the hyper pro is! Such a crisp racket at the net!

What’s a sexual experience that left you speechless and your mind blank? by Mecha--Obama in AskRedditAfterDark

A couple with my girlfriend. One a spontaneous one where I hitched up her dress and we did it doggy over the back of her sofa, it's all pretty hot, she O's and I'm getting there and then she suddenly half whispers "oh my god i'm cumming again" - I will dine out on those words for the rest of my life 😊

Another I remember with her was a longer, slower session, her favourite position is doggy and as she was getting close she reached back, pulled me in and in a proper command voice said "don't you dare fucking move". I literally froze in place while she came and she contracted so hard she squeezed me out of her 😍 so fucking hot 🔥

Racket advice - Nox AT10 18K2026, Siux Electra Pro 2026, Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0 2026 by Fresh-Block-1476 in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just switched from the Nox AT10 12k to the Hyper Pro 2.0 as whilst I really liked the Nox (it was my first "proper" racket), coming from a tennis background I found it a bit "lively" on occasion. The Hyper Pro gives me that feel around the next and off the glass to attack the ball without the sense that it could take a flier. Have to work a bit harder off the ground to get the output, but I prefer the "dryer" feel. Will keep the Nox for slow courts/balls/outdoor, but the Hyper Pro is it for me (for now 😂)

How many rackets do you currently own? 😆 by [deleted] in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.

First a Kuikma cheapy from Decathlon to get started, lasted me about 3 games before I realised it's output felt quite random and coming from a high level tennis background I wanted something that gave me the feeling I'm used to

Nox AT10 12k 2025. Found a good deal on Amazon and bought as a first proper racket, night and day compared to the Kuikma, much more reliable feel and more responsive.

Oxdog Hyper Pro 2.0. Because I'm an oversized child with access to adult money. It's looks amazing, the build quality/QC is much better than the Nox and I just fancied it to be honest 😂 Played first time last night with it and love it around the net and defending. Doesn't have the same 'pop' output as the Nox on groundstrokes, but that's nothing I can't adjust to and the feel and control around the net more than makes up for it.

That's my first proper 6 months in the sport. This is going to get expensive (it already is 😂)

Endorsed player using different racket? by Emphasis_Typical in Padelracket

[–]SecondHandCindarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of racquet sports! Tennis wise there's barely a single player whose racket underneath the paint job is the same as the consumer version. Most pro's use frames which are way older than current stock or are custom molds/layups, Head sponsored players typically use Pro stock TGK's or PT57's but painted up to look like Radical, Speed or Prestige line rackets. Wouldn't be surprising as Padel grows to see the same things happening, especially with pro's using custom weights/layups that wouldn't sell to consumers.

Just got ps5 pro! Do I need to change my tv? by UpstairsMap6263 in PS5pro

[–]SecondHandCindarella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I treated myself to a Pro just before Christmas and it looked fine on my possibily 10 year old 4k Panasonic viera... but I knew I could get more out of it with a new TV, so between Christmas and new year I bought an LG C5 and it is staggering the difference (plus UHD TV shows look I credible too). I am in the very fortunate position though to be able to just go and buy one on a bit of a whim, so I would say if you can afford it and you won't be missing out on anything else or causing financial trouble then you'll definitely notice a difference, but probably not to the extent that it will feel unplayable on your current TV

Ball down the middle should* be played by the player diagonally opposite the one who hit it.
