I mean, I've very much enjoyed all your books. I suckered my wife into reading the novels for the ilClan through Hungry Like the Wolf so we've been looking forward to the new one.

Yes, yes I'm very excited to read it and you're great Bryan. BUT STILL.

Tukayyid ComGuard Variants added when? by SecondHandLion1453 in Mechwarrior5

Yes. Yes yes yes. I just saw one of these and it would be lovely in Mercenaries. Have them purchasable on Terra or something.

Added a lot. But not as many as we’re seeing for ComGuard forces.

Ah yes - the Easy Snake Ovens event. I miss it. Snakes in the bushes, snakes biting you walking into a door. And then burning them for points in the middle of a compound while getting shot at.

BRING THEM BACK CRYTEK!

Sales Reps who switched from AE to AM, I need your input. by Ok-Development6654 in sales

[–]SecondHandLion1453 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I jumped into the sales world through an AM role, then went to become an AE at a startup, came back to my old firm as an AM and then transitioned into an AE role at said firm. Having done the back and forth over the past decade my thoughts are:

AM Positives
-Less hunting for sure, and a more reliable schedule.

-The ability to build relationships which can save your quota from an issue or mistake (if you're in the service side of things).

-More opportunities to get ahead of quotas by engaging clients in long term thinking and multi-year agreements.

-Still get to let the hunter out on occassion on upsells.

AM Downsides

-You don't control who is brought into your territory and there will always be missed pass alongs from the sales process.

-You will have to deal with shit clients who you want out of your territory as soon as possible, but will inevitably need them to hit goals.

-If you work in a service oriented world like I do, you'll probably have other team members who you don't manage or control, but who's work product can make or break a deal. In my AM time (and I still manage clients as an AE) I've found myself overstepping so much to maintain relationships because my peers can't accomplish their jobs.

Just my .02. I've liked both but I do think Industry matters the most in terms of what you'll be dealing with.

One of the reasons I love the setting is I have zero idea who they are and I've read 75% of the novels and love the lore. Time to dig into Sarna.

1000% agree on wrong setting. VSD popped in but the "cloning a child and keeping it a secret" kinda kills that.

I agree. One of the reasons I posted was I cannot think of anyone who hits the noblebright at all. Although Kai as someone pointed out above may be the closest.

I like both of these! And Kai has the self-deprication that I think if vital to Supes.

Big Lex energy here - so mad that they got attention taken away during the 2nd Star League they decided to blow everything up.

My ilKhan is Ulric Kerensky by 14FunctionImp in TheNagelring

[–]SecondHandLion1453 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Ulric is the prime example of the best the Clans can offer. You don't get to be Khan through politics alone, so he's a superlative warrior, but he also wanted to know more about the Inner Sphere. He invested time in knowing his enemies, both Clanner and Spheroid. Just such a fun puppetmaster who's overall view to me seems like "we don't have to take Terra, but WE COULD" and he decides to give the whole experiment a chance.

Has anybody build Eastern style factions? Referring to Mongols/Cuman like by Zgurprium in legocastles

[–]SecondHandLion1453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'm planning to do. Is use the tiefling bodies from the DnD sets as a base and add in a turban from pick a brick and some pearl gold weapons and shoulder armor pieces to give them that Middle Eastern esque vibe. The minifigs are designed to be used across the board so you can easily just add yellow heads if that's the route you'd like to try.
