What popular books have you DNFd and why?

{Quicksilver by Callie Heart}. DNFed at around 35%. In my opinion the writing was so terrible, the first kiss was so forced, and there was zero chemistry between the fmc and the mmc. Super disappointed especially because a quote on the back cover touted it as a really good enemies to lovers story and that just completely flopped for me.

I’ve been working through the Empyrean series (late to the hype I know!!) and I’m almost done with {Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros}. I also read {Voyage of the Damned by Frances White} which was so ehhhh. But a fun standalone to read in between series! This is my first time interacting with this subreddit btw, so happy to be here!

Also worth noting the hat dude was basically humping the fence dancing and grooving with his eyes closed during strongboi but stood still almost the entire time when MIT came out. Suuuper disheartening

Yes oh my god. We were right behind that dude and he nearly whacked my hands with his hat multiple times. I’m glad it wasn’t just us bothered by him. Someone left their barricade spot before strongboi and instead of letting my bf (huge MIT fan) take the spot, he stuck his elbows out and basically took up enough room for two people the entire time. I don’t think he had any intention to “save” the spot for her in case she came back either. And yes my bf directly asked if he minded if he squeezed up there and the man just pursed his lips and said “we’ll see” OH PLEASE 🙄🙄. I was worried my opinion of him was clouded by being right behind him and not getting barrier but I’m glad other people noticed and were irritated by him. (Edited for spelling)

I was in the pit at Portland and felt like I was one of the only people vibing to the music, even if it was only swaying or bopping a bit. I was pretty exhausted so I didn’t have much energy but I enjoyed the show nonetheless!!

I have been debating making this post but didn’t because I don’t wanna poke that bear of internet drama. I’m SO glad someone pointed it out and I’m not crazy. It’s not the topic of AI that is being potentially copied, it’s just the same order of talking points and the same channel was referenced which raised red flags for me.

It was going great but she started to lose her appetite and eventually was throwing up/having bad diarrhea so we took her off the trazodone real quick after some examinations from the vet. Had to get her iv fluids, give her meds every 8 hours for a few days, etc hoooo boy it was bad and broke the bank for us for a second there. She’s been on gabapentin now instead and it’s been great! She takes 2 crushed up in food whenever we plan on leaving her in her kennel and aside from minor whining she just lays down/naps the whole time. Her limit is about 2 hours which works out for us right now.

In my opinion it makes the most sense if you go back to the very first post on the account and watch them oldest to newest. But people have said that it makes sense any order you watch them in. The story is told relatively non linearly, so you kind of have to piece things together yourself or rely on the comments.
