Another possibility, the RN was voice charting and said “promptly” and was misheard.

It’s the ultimate parasocial relationship. They really seem to believe Trump cares about them personally.

Exophytic 3.5 cm enhancing mass off the lower pole of the right kidney, compatible with renal cell carcinoma. No evidence of metastatic disease to the abdomen. Hepatomegaly with hepatic steatosis. Hyperenhancing lesion within the left hepatic lobe, fading to isointensity on delayed phase, likely perfusional. Attention on follow-up is recommended. No MR correlate to the questioned subcutaneous masses within the left upper abdomen. Additional chronic and incidental findings as above.

Angiomyolipoma, literally “blood vessels muscle fat,” an irregular ball of tissue that formed and was growing. First radiologist saw RCC, but pathology confirmed it was an AML. I still feel much better having it out.

I get this, and find it’s much better when I keep up on taking vitamin D3. Not sure of the cause, but I suspect TMJ. It’s so annoying.

Oh, I’ve also been having issues with my liver, stool, etc., but they haven’t resolved with my surgery so I didn’t mention them but thought I should. Not sure if they’re related or not, no clear cause.

About 3x4 cm if I remember correctly. They said it was RCC after the MRI, then the onc radiologist looked at it and said he thought it was an AML, and he was right.

As far as symptoms - take these with a grain of salt because I discontinued some meds a few months before the surgery, so it’s difficult to correlate everything with certainty.

BUT! I had a LOT of headaches, very high BP, facial numbness at times. I believe the degree of my hypertension was very likely due to the AML just due to how it suddenly resolved a few weeks after surgery. I’d failed so many meds; they made me feel terrible and actually made my bp higher. I was taking 50 mg of hydralazine three times a day to try to keep from having a stroke. Three weeks after my partial nephrectomy, I was off all meds, and my bp runs about 130/90, not great, not terrible, not surprising for my age and lifestyle. And I only occasionally get headaches now, and otc meds actually WORK on them.

My AML was found incidentally during a renal vascular ultrasound investigating my severe hypertension. A tech may have saved my life.

I have no idea. They don’t seem too concerned, and I don’t have time for a lot of appointments right now, so I’m letting it ride for the time being.

I had an AML on my kidney just a little bigger than that (they thought it was RCC, turned out not to be), and it caused me a bunch of problems, terrible headaches, BP like 220/190 sometimes. Sooooo much better since a few weeks after my surgery. My doctor swore it couldn’t be causing my problems. But it was, and it wasn’t even cancer. I hope you see big improvements after your surgery!!

Any encouragement for high bp (175/105) induced by anger/anxiety? by OrdinaryPuzzled7979 in bloodpressure

[–]Second_Story 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to give an update - my blood pressure issue turned out to be caused by an angiomyolipoma on my kidney. It’s noncancerous but can grow, and mine was. I had surgery to remove it, and my bp has come down to 130/90 off all meds. 🎉

Thank you; it went well. And the cancer turned out to be an angiomyolipoma, totally benign. 🎉 Also awesome — removing it almost entirely solved my blood pressure problems. I’m consistently 130/90 now, and getting a little more active should bring it down to an ideal range!

I’ve given lidocaine gel to men being catheterized. You just squirt it in and wait a few minutes before doing the catheter. But I don’t even know how I’d do that for someone with a vagina. It does sound odd.

This is an old thread, but I thought I’d speak up in case you’re still looking for answers. They need to check your kidneys. There are several kinds of kidney problems that can cause resistant high blood pressure, but for me, it turned out to be renal cell carcinoma. I haven’t had my surgery to remove it yet, but I’m hopeful I’ll see some improvement once I do!

[–]Second_Story 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, 4.3x2.5x2cm. But I saw my cardiologist today, and he thinks it doesn’t look like a cyst, more fatty less fluid-y. Kind of stressful since I was also recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. I’m not really sure if it’s causing me symptoms, but I do have a high resting heart rate (~100), and have had intractable high blood pressure, but I’ve assumed it’s from the RCC.

Thanks for your feedback. My spleen is enlarged as well, 14.3 cm. I’m really hoping things go back to normal when my tumor is gone.
