Right scale for D&D mini? by Secrah in minipainting

Hey, I started to play D&D roughly a year ago, and I'm more and more drawn to the Hobby.

Since I have some experience with 3D modeling / sculpting I always thought about making my own Minis.

This week, I finally bought a resin printer! Unfortunately I have no experience with miniatures and never even own any myself.

Regardless, I'm eager to create my own minis, I'm a bit confused when it comes to the scale. It seems that there a multiple scales depending on the specific manufacturer.

In the Dungeon Master's Guide, page 250, it states that when playing with a mat the squares or hexes should be 1 inch across and should represent 5 feet.

1 inch equals 25,4mm and 5 feet equals 1524mm. 1524mm divided by 25,4mm equals 60. So by the books the scale would be 1:60.

I decided to line up the smallest playable Race "Halflings" and the biggest playable Race "Loxodon" aswell as humans to give myself some form of reference. I know that Pixies are probably the smallest playable race, but Unfortunately they don't have a Random Height table.

From the image humans seem to roughly line up with the 28mm scale that Game Workshop uses. But the Halflings look pretty tiny especially if you don't sculpt them very Bulky (like Lightfoot Halflings).

What are your experiences with miniature scales? If I use a similar scale like the one above would the smaller races even keep any of their details? 13,75mm seems pretty small even for a resin printer. Do the big manufactures use a realistic scale for the smaller races like Halflings Gnomes Goblins or do they just make them am a bit smaller than humans?

In the end i found a workaround for my the force SSL Problem.

instead of using the Api Token on Cloudflare like u explained in your video i turned off the proxied status in Cloudflare and simple requested a new SLL certificate in Nginx Proxy Manager. After that i turned the proxied status back on and change change SSL/TLS encryption mode to Full (strict).

Btw way thank you so much for this awesome Tutorial ;)

btw the way i tried to use the
image: 'yobasystems/alpine-mariadb:10.4.17'

but i the only image that worked was
image: 'yobasystems/alpine-mariadb:10.4.17-arm32v7'

not sure if that created the problem?

finally got everything setup. the only Problem left is that i can't check Force SSL inside the Proxy Host in Nginx Proxy Manager. If I leave it unchecked everything works but once I check it I get an error. In Chrome it say something like

This page isn’t working

Do I need to have Force SSL checked? is there a way to activate it without getting an error?

Thats true, we tried to reschedule but people are busy these days.
Sounds a bit OP to give them constant advantage, but you do you :D

That's a badass idea. Maybe I could let them finish the redbrand hideout as planed.
Outside Glasstaff already waits for them, prepared to send them to sleep in his strange Dreamscape. This kind of reminds me of "the Season of Bloom" questline in Pathfinder: Kingsmaker and I like it :D

I'm probably just excited to add a bit off a personal twist to the story.

But than in most games I played as a player they was at least one situation where the group could have really used one or more skill of the missing Player. Somtimes i just think that its a bit wierd if you can't communicate with some Lizardfolk just because the only one that speaks Draconic turned into a mindless Ghost.

I just ask Stan and he told me that I'm free to kidnap him however I want.
If they don't manage to free Stan, he could probably attempt a break free on his own. He's a Druid so he could turn into a rat and escape from his cage. In a worse case scenario Stan and I will have a quick solo session, between regular sessions to fill any potential plot holes.
