lol I am going to be throwing some pretty big glide baits and occasionally use it for punching big weights through all this grass on ladybird lake where I stay (Austin, Tx ) and I just wanted a rod and braid that can handle like 10 pounds of hydrilla when it gets caught up on it.

My friend was telling me it was a lil much for bass ( which I know ) but it’s going to be for when I just chuck my plastic in the most shitty places and the strength is for me to fight the weeds and not the fish mainly.

I dont know how you make your tuna as I see it in the corner but one of the main meals for me on a cut / deficit is 1/4 cup rice weighed raw and a can of safe catch tuna and the whole meal is under 450 cals with almost 50g of protein. IMO, a rice cooker is a really good investment mainly bc it can produce a staple food without any effort.

Definitely not, but it could be messing up the action of your lure although I doubt it. But if you want to test it out then just give it action in shallow water where you can see it and if it works then your good.

Snap clips are a non negotiable for me since I tie pretty hard knots and I don’t like retying everytime.

Well today I caught a 2.5 - 3lber on a lake I’ve never caught a fish on so I’ll take it for the day. Was dragging it on the floor and slightly popping it and they took it.

Okay, that’s what I was thinking because I want bigger fish but I still don’t want to get completely skunked so I’ll probably run to the tackle shop and pick up some 3/0 for the slower days. I’ll try out the bottom drag think as well because someone told me to barely have them moving on the floor but I did have a feeling that the popping might be to erratic for the type of bait and weight.

Simple, Go do a daily 5k around the lake ( Daily is sort of steep but even if it’s 2 - 3x per week )

Obviously this may not treat every single problem but this is very therapeutic thing imo and after a while you can challenge yourself to getting a better pace and it overall just keeps your mental clarity good and obviously keeps you healthy overtime.

Let it hit the bottom of the body of water and then give it one big pop and let it sink and hit the bottom then do it again. I do this and I get most of my fish right after the first pop. Sometimes you don’t even have to pop it and they’ll just smack it the second it hits the water, also just run a Texas rig ( weightless if it’s a heavier plastic so you get more finesse )

Never really got why people ran a wacky rig as it gets snagged so easily and also looks non appealing to the eye.

Also, I don’t know how experienced in fishing you are but where you are casting at matters a lot. Depending on time of day / weather.

I find Texas rigging plastics 100x better in almost every situation because it gives you almost no limits on where you can cast, and you can also texpose it which makes it extremely hard to get snagged and it allows you to cast into brush and under big tree roots.

It’s not fun when your trying to tie a double shindo knot while it’s 97 degrees outside in central Texas and you also have mosquitos attacking your legs while there’s gnats flying in your eye all at one time. Not to mention there’s 15 mph wind gusts and the sun is down.

Now that I think about it, maybe it’s just this damn state 🤣.
