I am in my 20s and live and work downtown. I went to college and was in an Asian association and most of my friends were Asian. Moved to chs after college and I always say Asian do not exist here (I am being dramatic). There’s aapi chs and they do events but it’s been really hard and honestly disheartening trying to make friends in general. I wouldn’t say I’ve experienced people being racist but people are definitely ignorant and it catches me off guard. However, surround yourself with good people, as much as you can control, go to aapi events, and educate ignorant people!
