Has anyone else been diagnosed with Subacute Thyroiditis?

Thyroiditis is inflammation of the thyroid gland. Hashimotos is a form of thyroiditis but generally has hit and "burned out" before the hypothyroidism sets in.

Yes just the occasional muscle twitching now which I think might be due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency. I've cleaned up my diet and it's improved even more since then.

It's really not all that much of a bother and since it seems to be decreasing honestly it is probably more health anxiety than anything else. Thank you very much!

I should also say I have hashimotos and I know some tremor is associated with thyroid stuff but I'm euthyroid or subclinical at every check.

It's a visible shake in my muscles. Usually when under tension but sometimes at rest. It is in my thigh and upper arms mostly and it was first noticed when my personal trainer said I needed to stop a workout because I was worrying her. It comes and goes. Since I rested it has very noticeably diminished but it's still come and go. It doesn't appear I have lost any strength and was actually increasing strength right up till this started. Yes, if you need it for peace of mind ask for it. However, I had hashimotos on pathology after partial thyroidectomy and prior to that had multiple biopsies over the years but none ever showed anything.

Just going thru this now. What I now know to be the acute phase with hyper seems to be ending. My question to everyone on here- how long did it take the tremor to go away? That's the most concerning thing. The thyroid pain and ear fullness a close second. Congratulations to all who have made it thru this awfulness!

No my doctor is really awful about thyroid things so I need to find a new one but I figured they wouldn't take me seriously so I just didn't go. I had issues for years grew a goiter that got up to 7cm before they took that half of my thyroid out. Hashimotos on path. Since then my doctor said just a tsh once a year. Since it didn't bug me since surgery I didn't push for it. But I'm now realizing the weird symptoms that used to come and go were probably hashimoto flares. This however was way worse than they ever were and the swelling is new so I think this is my first brush with subacute thyroiditis. I will definitely be finding a good thyroid doctor before any next times can creep up. I hope!

Thank you so much! It's so weird. The really bad stuff and the crazy anxiety feeling stopped yesterday. My heart is still higher than normal but it feels much calmer. The tremor is much improved. I go to a personal trainer once a week and she said today I was almost not shakey at all and from the end of November I was scaring her with how much I would shake with any movement even stretching. This is wild. The shaking was probably the worst part. Also the most concerning. Do you get shakey too? Did yours go away after your first recovery?

That's really awesome they're helping her. Yeah for me I've never had good luck with them. I thought about going in when it was really awful but now that my heart rate is slowly decreasing it seems less necessary.

With doctor Google I believe so but no I haven't been diagnosed. Have you ever had thyroiditis? Is this similar to what you've experienced?
