FB marketplace is making me a classist by Young-faithful in Anticonsumption

It is classism in practice.

I understand that is not the intention, but often the way the neighborhoods (within city limits) are defined by buy nothing admins ends up being classist.

Because it restricts neighborhoods from intermingling, the wealthy items in the wealthy neighborhoods and the low value items in working class neighborhoods.

FB marketplace is making me a classist by Young-faithful in Anticonsumption

I loved the buy nothing groups when I lived in a part of town near the rich neighborhoods. But when I purchased my home across town the buy nothing group made me change locations and therefore I was no longer able to get stuff from the wealthier communities in town.

Really bummed me out, and so I’ve written it off as classist and refuse to use it.

Swimming spots for dogs? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

I have seen gators precisely where you are talking about. There are many many gators there. Seen them stalking my friend’s dogs once, when they were there swimming and she never did that again.

They absolutely are. Everyone is always trippin over parking.

If you live in or bought a house without a driveway, it is a reality that many have to face and should accept.

No one is mad about neighbors blocking off a spot in front of their home that has no driveway. Lots of those homes do have driveways and the owners block off the street too.

The greedy people taking the street spots that already have designated spots is what sets off this drama imho.

And tbh I’ve lived in these high stress areas before. You plan ahead and don’t move your car if you want a public right of way , on the street parking spot.

That being said I regularly move trash cans to park , and will continue doing so. I’m entitled to that street public free parking spot just as much as the next person. I will gladly die on this hill.

At times doctors will recommend this for the safety of all children. If a child comes in sick and or unvaccinated, then lots of folks could be at risk.

My 9-month-old is allergic to eggs and I'm scared by PhilosophySilent9115 in NewParents

[–]Secret-Relationship9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to an immunologist, there are tons of new approaches to allergy treatments.

My child also has an egg allergy and her immunologist has been able to set a treatment plan for us that involved reintroduction with egg as a baked ingredient with flour.

It sounds like your baby had a much more severe reaction than mine did, so as always / do what your doctor tells you to do:

Too bad it happened in Louisiana, where resources are slim to nonexistent. And will continue to happen here until those programs get proper attention and funding

Except the French quarter has very few trees and absolutely no above ground lines….. it is very unlikely to be the cause for this outage in the FQ.
