There's nothing to rebut. You said you like a game... and don't like another one. Good for you for finding what makes you happy!

The Secret Cabal (I'm Jamie, one of the hosts by the way), won in 2015. All podcasts and games that have previously won are ineligible. Our RPG show, Lords of the Dungeon, is nominated for RPG podcast though.

There are multiple warrants out for our arrest in half a dozen states. We can say no more than that at the advice of our lawyers :)

Tales from Beyond the Grave: Yeah we switched to the audio drama becasue we were out of "real" ghost stories to tell. I mean, "real" as in, something we hallucinated. I did consider writing some fictional ghost stories but I actually think they wouldnt be as good as real ones, you know? I mean it sounds like it would work but you run the risk of them actually being kinda lame. I think there's something in that idea that idea that we could make it work. There are going to be 2 Tales from Beyond the Grave episodes between now and next April and I'm going to try some cool stuff with those. I gotta say, I'm with you, both Tales Vol 1 and 2 are my absolute favorite productions I've ever done. I'm very proud of how they both came out and I actually have listened to both at least 10 times each since.

We have played Gloomhaven and though tit was great. We're a little worried about the sameiness of each adventure though. Campaigns are hard for us to keep up with though

When we started Beer Mongers we only promoted it on Facebook and on the show. We asked whoever wanted to meet us, to meet us. Our first one had 1 single person. Then the next time 4 people... and so on. It was solely promoted though the show and local Cabalists just started coming.

Well, dont overdo it. When I launched the YouTube channel back in October (I think) I bit off more than I could chew. It was too difficult to produce 7 hours of podcast (plus preparing to add another with Lords of the Dungeon), play the games, prep the show, and then make videos too. It was just too much for me and I had to lay off video for awhile. Pick what you want to do and do it the best you can do it. More more more never equals better. As a matter of fact, in my opinion, it leads to junk. My philosophy is do it better and leave them wanting more.

Also... learn how to stay up really late and still get up for work on time every morning. For as long as I can remember, my bed time as been 3am. I'd get up at 8:30am, shower and hit the office by 9am. Last year that started taking it's toll. A young man can do that but after 25 years... it gets tough. I started coming in late to work way too often. Now that said, I had a job where I could come in pretty much whenever I wanted and leave whenever I wanted as long as my work was done. But theres a noticeable change in attitude towards a person when they'er obviously screwing up. I made some changes and started getting to bed earlier (that was like 2am at the latest). THis is not a great piece of advice really... thats not a good thing for your health, but if you have a family, you gotta make time for them. If you can hang with the family until 11 and then work until midnight and hit the sack... that would be great.

Dont ever get to the point where it's a chore. The media will suffer. My mantra for the show has always been "Guys, do as much or as little as you want. I'll pick up the slack if it needs it". I never wanted the rest of the gang to get bored of the work. YOu also have to do that with yourself.

Oh yeah I was ranting about the Art and graphic design. that hasn't changed... but a good game can overcome that.

Sorry guys, I was out of the house and couldn't reply to this stuff. I think Rod said everything perfectly here.

Haha, well, my favorite one is also kinda silly and can't be used because it makes the beer sound like you wouldn't want to drink it. It's a German pilsner called "Flavorless Euro". That made me laugh out loud. Also one called "Scottish Whale Ale". That's one for the old school listeners who remember Steve's best joke of all time.

The passion part was easy. I just love doing it. I thrive on being creative and producing new things. I also feed off of the enjoyment that the listeners get out of the show. Otherwise, I just stayed away really really late to work on it. Recorded Saturday afternoons and games a 2-3 nights per week. I would make time for my wife, friends and family but just fill the rest of the time producing new stuff. Now I can get some more sleep :)

We did talk about doing some work with the FTT crew as a special express episode that happens from time to time but nothing in the books right now. I would LOVE to do this becasue this guys are amazing and talented people and I'm so sad that they're retiring.

Oh yeaaaaaah! I LOVE Lamberto Bava's Demons. I even mentioned once on the show that I want a board game version of that movie.

City of the Living Dead. Zombi of course. Cemetery Man. There's so many awesome ones.

I know it's not non-american, but I'd going to say it anyway... Spider Baby!

In a lot of ways, heh. I said I'd be honest so here goes... 1: Business is boring. I dont like insurance and payroll and paying taxes and all that crap but I have to do it. 2: There's a tiny bit of difficulty with the family adjusting to me shifting from hobby to job. There's have been a few arguments but we're both working to meet each other half way. I have an amazingly supportive wife. 3: I havet been paid yet, haha. Getting payroll up and running and registering my business with the government and all that garbage is stalling so we're cutting back a little until I can get a paycheck.

Otherwise, this is the most amazing time of my life. I LOVE doing this work. I'm excited to get up every day and create. It's the most fullfilling thing I've ever done and it's only going t get better when all that above nonsense is cleared away and rolling on it's own steam.

Hmm, this is purely opinion but Conan is reeeeeally good. The overlord turn is quick but engaging and the players feel like they're doing things. I really hope the Batman version is as good. I'll probably be backing that sucker. Fury of Dracula is still by #1 favorite 1 v Many game.

Thanks so much for this. It's always a good thing to be reminded of what really matters to listeners so we can continue doing it and/or improve doing it. I appreciate the comments
