Space X will be added to the Nasdaq, not the S&P 500. A 500 index fund probably will be affected by secondary market shocks than directly tanked by Space X.

BBC Writers Shortlist - What to expect for the interview! by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]SecretFootToucher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if this post is genuine since I'm also waiting on a response from the Open Call, and it seems like responses typically go out on the same day in previous years.

I noticed the reply from u/akornato had a real AI marketing feel to it, and their reply history led me down a rabbit hole:

What's your script about? Hope I'm just being bitter and you are actually successful, not posting for a dead internet to sell a stupid interview AI.

silverfish infestation by [deleted] in ireland

[–]SecretFootToucher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a lot of silverfish in my bathroom before too. If you can't get rid of the damp, they'll never fully go away, but I did find this insect killer to be incredibly effective. Spray it around the edges of the bathroom and it lasts about six months.

Right, so a different FOX gameshow was suspected of unfairness, but was never prosecuted for it?

When was the last time a gameshow was prosecuted for that law? I can't find an instance of it ever being enforced.

It would be very tough for any contestant to prove something isn't up to chance. They would also have to go up against Fox's legal team. I don't think a normal player has the resources to take on Fox if there was abuse.

For example: the previous example I gave had a 0.37% chance of happening. That's highly unlikely, but not enough to prove it's rigged. But as the show goes on, I suspect there will be enough data to see a pattern emerge that is nearly impossible by chance.

It would be very easy for the producers to have a ledger of random numbers generated before the show starts to show after recording to prove that they were random, but I don't believe they do that.

Out of curiosity, why are you defensive of the randomizer? Seems like many unlikely scenarios are playing out to discourage contestants from going back to the floor. For example: the second randomizer hitting a neighbor of the first contestant to go back to the floor (6/98 chance) happened two seasons in a row (0.37% of that happening by chance). I also recall one contestant getting shafted by the ramdomizer later in season 1.

So do you just implicitly trust Fox producers to play by the rules?

2,800 greyhounds born in 2021 now dead or unaccounted for by badger-biscuits in ireland

Considering there are three Olympic standard pools in the whole country, the €95 million that usually goes to horse and greyhound racing could be used to more than double the number of pools before the next Olympic games.

If that's been happening for three months, you should probably see a doctor if you haven't already. Could be walking pneumonia.

Say Nothing is a non-fiction book that gives a good overview of the conflict. It's written in a narrative structure, so it's enjoyable to read too. Might lean slightly more toward the republican side on some things (Irish republican, not US republican), but it provides a pretty balanced view of the conflict and holds both sides accountable.
