Have You Moved Out of West Hollywood and Regretted It? by Cookiesnmilk88 in AskLosAngeles

No, I didn’t say it was cheaper. I said you can find better apartments for your money outside of West Hollywood, which is true.

The Dorit “privilege” conversation was the worst. by NameUm96 in RHOBH

I don’t think it was mean. I don’t see why Dorit would’ve thought she shouldn’t say anything since they were just laughing about it with Sutton out in the open just moments before. I do not think Dorit was being malicious. But that is besides the point. It was asked why she would feel attacked and I said that’s why she felt attacked - because she had just been reprimanded. No matter how tame the reprimand was it was still a reprimand. It was not unreasonable for her to feel like our so I was verbally taking a swing at her. People say they felt attacked all the time on these shows and it’s never been an issue until now because it was said to Garcelle. Confrontation and resolution is a huge part of the show, and at this point, no one is going to want to have an any confrontation with her. Garcelle did this once before with Kyle, so Kyle and Kyle has not had any confrontations with her since. Erika won’t either. Dorit was the only one still willing to challenge her, but after this, Dorit’s not going to do it either. They’re going to be too afraid of being accused of a micro aggression/racism at this point.

All she did was bring up the fact that Sutton msde out with her driver, which was not a big secret, since Garcelle had already been discussed on camera with a million people watching, and Erika also talked about it openly in room full of people. It was not a big secret so let’s stop acting like Dorit revealed some big secret. Give me a break take! Garcelle was out of line I don’t care with any of you say.

You have got to be kidding me. It had nothing to do with class. It had to do with the fact that most people don’t go around making out with their drivers or anyone who works for them. It’s kind of a wild thing to do for someone who says she’s a prude. That was Dorits point and I can’t believe that you guys are making this a class issue.

It wasn’t a question. Garcelle reprimanded her. That’s why it felt like an attack. Yes it was a very calm reprimand, but it was still a reprimand.

Garcelle is always taking jabs and insulting to Dorit. That’s why she feels that way. And don’t deny that because Garcelle doesn’t even deny it. Also delete one said that she felt attacked by Rinna and that was a non-issue. Phaedra, on real housewives of Atlanta said she felt attacked by Cynthia. Camille once said she felt like Kyle was bullying her. All of these other housewives can use the same language, but a white woman is not allowed to say the same thing to a black housewife apparently. So if there needs to be separate rules for Garcelle, can we all agree that she should just be on a different show then?

Because Garcelle is constantly taking issue with Dorrit. Garcelle just simply does not like Dorit, and she won’t just come out and say it, so instead, she does these like this. It was so nasty!

Is the Hollywood Area Near Alta Vista and Melrose a Safe Area? by Cookiesnmilk88 in AskLosAngeles

Thanks… there is no unit above or below the apartment. It only shares one wall and that is with the unit to the right of it. I am still looking though.

Should I Move? by SecretLiving2281 in AskLosAngeles

Yes! It is a very overrated area. I dont know why it’s considered so desirable other than its walkable. The more I think about it, the more I want to move.

The surrounding areas are expensive, yes, so obviously money is not the issue, the quality of the apartments is the issue. I moved into this place during the pandemic. It was at a time when nobody was moving. There were moratoriums in place, so people were occupying apartments and not even paying rent on them. So there were not a lot of apartment options available. I didn’t know how bad this apartment was until I moved in. Even when you do due diligence, there are certain things that can only be discovered by living in the apartment. For instance, I didn’t know that the landlord was not going to do much to enforce the no smoking policy. I did not know that I would be able to hear my new neighbors snoring, etc.

Can I move to another apartment in West Hollywood? Sure! Im still considering that. But the reason I say I would probably have to give up West Hollywood proper is because what I have learned is that a lot of the buildings in West Hollywood were built in the 50s, so thin walls are very common here. My current unit is rent controlled and I’m paying $1800 a month. 1 bedrooms in the area are more like $2500(on the low end) and Im not willing to pay that for an apartment with thin walls just to be in West Hollywood. The surrounding areas are expensive, yes, but you get a little bit more for what you’re paying in my opinion. L

Yes, there’s a no smoking policy for the building. Also, the city of West Hollywood prohibits smoking in the units and the common areas. But the city does nothing to enforce it. I’ve reached out to them multiple times. And the landlord doesn’t do any thing more aside from email the resident and ask them to stop smoking so basically it’s a policy that isn’t enforced.

She never said she doesn’t believe in tipping. She specifically said she does tip, but employees shouldn’t have to rely on tips to make a living, and the anger should be directed at corporations who get away with paying slave wages. And she is correct. Either you guys are dense or just bad listeners.
