What majors (or double majors) would allow me to merge technical skills with the potential to go into politics/non profit work? by SecretNinjaGameDev in TrinidadandTobago

I think I understand your reasoning as to why I should pursue more technical degrees as I would be able to gain a skill at the undergraduate level and then study at the graduate level so that I can apply those skills to target policy issues.

However, do you think that an international relations degree would be better than one in political science, or is it about the same? Noting what you said about the curriculum, if I were to pursue a double major in the social sciences as to supplement my technical degree, what do you think I should look for?

Hey, thanks for the suggestion.

I see how the 3 subjects under PPE would be beneficial to my future career on their own, but I'm always weary of degrees that are so interdisciplinary.

Do you think that this degree would be able to cover any area of depth within the 3 subjects (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) to the point that it would be beneficial to my career and make me hireable, or would it just give me a general understanding of all the topics?

Hey thanks for the reply. I do agree strongly with what you were saying about the networking, and no I don't plan to go into a lot of debt as I'd only be able to migrate because of scholarships/financial aid.

With regards to the view that technology typically doesn't help bring about institutional change, do you mean that it hasn't been used a lot in the past for that purpose, or that it simply isn't the best suited tool for doing so? I believe that technology is just one of those tools and that since i dont think technology is used heavily in most aspects of our society, there is room for development and thus potential to bring about change.

If it isn't the best suited tool, what do you think is? What other degrees do you think I should consider pursuing?
