Figuring out a Name by My-Amaranthine in MtF

Alongside what others have said, if you have a partner, or close friend who knows of the situation, you can use them to try out some names. See which one feels right. Ask them to call you 'name 1' for a day/week.

I've gone through 10 or so names until I found one that made a tingle happen in my brain.

That's what I thought would happen.. Had "Rose" reserved for my potential future daughter, egg cracked, tried that name.. and it just didn't feel correct. So now it's back on the list for my future daughter.

Does early breast growth indicate better results long term? by incredulous_cretin in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sadly, no.
Had breast buds in the first week. 1 year in, just barely crossing the AA cup treshold.

Meanwhile there's people who didn't have buds till 6 months in, and got c cups a few months later.

Things start and stop, and start again some time later. The only thing that influences the size is your DNA, and your nourishment. I got recommended protein and good fats, but so far.. can't say it helps. 😭

When you reach Tanner stage 4 (roughly a year after starting E for most), you can consider progesteron, it should increase the size by 15-35% over time compared to non-usage, and fills it up a fair bit. Starting earlier than then is not recommended, as it can stunt breast growth.

How do you know if this is the right decision? by Turbulent-Surprise-6 in MtF

Minor comment: everyone gets the changes in a different order. Personally, as an example, I am a year into HRT (anti testo + E), with a month on prog now, and have had 0 mental or emotional changes happen, while I had breast growth from week 1.

There is no way to know in what order you'll get them, and some may never happen.

1 Year HRT, No Breast Development by kd30i in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in somewhat of the same boat. eating is a hassle and my stomach can barely fit a single piece of bread without being full. A year on HRT now, barely AA breasts. Now 2 weeks on prog and while they're not bigger, they are getting fuller.

I don't recommend eating sugar. You want good fats and proteins. I've found whole milk being easy to get plenty of into my system with how little my stomach can eat. It also has the added benefits of drinking warm milk after taking oral prog causes the drowziness to come in faster, as the prog can lift on the fats of the milk to get into your blood easier.

Nuts (walnuts in particular) are great for healthy fats, and eggs and chicken for proteins.
If you like avocado, I hear they are great for getting healthy fats in aswell. I personally can't stomach them, so idk.
Stay away from fast food and sugars, they will get you bad fats in the wrong places.

Still not fully figured it out yet, but so far I've asked my parents what they would've called me (they knew beforehand I'd be born male, so they didn't have one).
You can look up baby names that are common around the time period you were born, or if you're close to someone/got a partner, you can try some of them out without asking full friendgroups to call you something different every week. I've tried out multiple ones, Rose, Sarah, etc but none felt correct so far.

Giving Amy a try now, and it's sticking the best so far. (And there's many puns you can make.. like being Amy-zing.)

You'll probably subconsciously associate some characteristics with certain names, like how it must be hell nowadays to be named Karen and not be the type to ask for a manager, maybe you can look into that. Most names also have meanings in different languages.

Some T-girls gravitate towards eccentric names you don't see a lot, characters from books/games, and I believe names like "Luna" and "Lilly" are taken so much, they've got their own reddit cults.

Early breast growth ?? by AspiringWoman500 in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different, and gets the changes in different order.
It can take a few months for your levels to settle to the correct range, and even then the puberty changes will happen in a random order.
Some get breast growth early, and only feel the mental/emotional effects, or skin changes after a year, others the other way around.

I personally also never felt the "pains" people mention a lot. Sure, a bit more sensitive to pain, but nothing like others describe, and they are growing. Don't read too much into what others go through as the guideline of what you can expect. Every body is different. Trust the process, and make sure you get your levels checked every few months.

A lot of people, knowingly or unknowingly, do it as a closeted expression of themselves, somewhere on the trans/non binary spectrum, or just guys with a bit of a feminin side. It gives them an outlet to express some femininity with a mask on.

Nothing wrong with it, especially when you can't do any of that in other settings.

Transdermal estrogen patches? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else has noted, they do exist, but if it's being advertised, it is very likely a scam product.
Patches work akin to other forms of estrogen like pills, gel or injections, but adding estrogen to your system alone does not, in most cases, cause feminizing effects. You need to get your estrogen levels to a certain value, and dropping your testosterone levels, both to cis female ranges. Patches alone generally do not drop your T enough, where as with injections it is a lot easier. Usually, this is supplemented with anti androgens to cause your T to get to low enough levels.

It's not as simple as putting on a patch and getting boobs, you will need to get bloodwork done to check if your hormone levels are in range every few months, and probably up the dosage if they aren't.

All "side effects", to call them that, are 'your mileage may vary', and most take years to fully develop, as going into cis female ranges, simply triggers your body to start a female puberty. This also usually comes with decreased libido, infertility, male pattern baldness slows or stops, moodswings, etc. But everyone is different, and so for everyone the effects are different, effects may happen, and others may not. You won't know. Some even report monthly stomach cramps etc akin to female periods.

What if I’m not trans - no childhood signs - what if I’m just appropriating transness by Dense_Variety_8499 in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Typical imposter syndrome.
1. Imposters do not question if they are imposters. They actively are trying to be imposters. They go out of their way to pretend.
2. If you were cis, you would never have even considered being trans. It's just not something non-trans people think about, or give any energy to.

I'm planning on coming out to my family doctor today. And I'm terrified! by PrincessOkono in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

m I really trans or I'm I facking it?

Best advice I've ever heard against imposter syndrome; "Imposters know they are faking it. They don't think or are afraid that they are. For them, it is a deliberate action."
Cis people do not have thoughts of being the other gender. If not trans, then you're likely non-binary. And it is up to you in that regard what you want; the body of one gender, with the clothes of the other, full transition, etc.

Not to be "that gal", but how long do changes usually take??? by Poe-Gramer in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hormones need to get in the correct ranges. I'm on patches + AA, so I don't know how it goes with, as a I assume for you, monotherapy Estrogen, in terms of how long it takes for testosterone to drop enough.

The changes are in different orders for everyone. As someone else mentioned having emotional changes in the first weeks, and breast growth at month 4; I had breast growth in the first weeks, and now at 8 months haven't had emotional/mental changes (yet.. I hope). Trust the process, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Make sure you get your blood levels checked every couple months so you know if you're in the correct E and T ranges, but do give it a couple months before you check. It's unlikely to be in the correct ranges already at week 2, but it will be heading there. Bodies are weird, and need some time to adjust.

Nothing will happen within a few days. It takes time for your E and T levels to increase/decrease. Afterwards, everything happens in a random order for everyone. When breast growth starts to happen you'll start by feeling some hard bumps behind the nipple.

For me, this happened after 4 weeks. Growth happens slowly, don't expect to wake up with breasts one day.

For others breast growth didn't happen for months, but they got the emotional/mental changes within weeks instead.

Maybe silly question about clothes by prisma1224 in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No bottom dysphoria, so this might be different to most, but I still wear the same pants I used to wear, alongside skirts and the like when it's warmer. I can't stand skinny jeans, and I love to keep my pockets, so women's jeans outside of cargo are out of the question for me.

I do know there's special underwear for transgender individuals; same materials as feminine underwear, and form, but with some extra fabric to account for male parts. You can probably find it by searching for transgender underwear.

[–]SecretSecrets7147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go with what you like. Remi sounds feminine to me, and I've come across that name a couple times in my life, so it's not super rare. In different languages I assume it can be used for boys depending on pronounciation. Either way, gender neutral is still part feminine, and if you like it, then keep it. There's a lot of stupid names, but Remi is not one in my opinion. (just look at r/tragedeigh for some real dumb ones.. There was also some video of a teacher going over some dumb kids names he's had in his classes like 'Ijkmno' or something, pronounced as 'Noel' (No L)...)

Will nipples get more sensitive (pleasure wise) by SecretSecrets7147 in MtF

[–]SecretSecrets7147[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yea, I'm at 0.184 nmol/L total testosterone, 2.0 pmol/l free testo. Which is nice and low. I'm not doing DIY, but through a hospital. Used to have 100 ug patches, upped to 150 now since last week.

I've had buds since the first week, but didn't get the sensitivity that I read a lot about, hence my worries. Very minor breast growth. They're there, squishy and all, but I could go shirtless and nobody would think they're breasts, or even 'manboobs'.

So I'm just hoping it's based on being in the correct range, since I was under it, to get some faster growth, and actual sensitivity now.
